*This plan would only work with places that don't have garbage cans, i.e. Channel tower apartments, some factory locations, etc.*

We've all been there when we owned a property, there is no way someone knows we live there when suddenly within 10 min of being on your property, you get singled out, raided/mugged and you don't have the evidence to prove that meta was involved. I believe I have a solution when it comes to this.

Before we get started, I'm well aware that there possible Meta gamers reading this so they will try to counter the points i make in anyway. regardless, this will at least stop other meta gamers that wont read this. Now onto the guide.

1A. You need to record the moment you buy a property
-This is obvious because now you can pinpoint when you started owning a property and see how long it takes to get raided or mugged if it ever comes to that point.

2A. When you head to your property, park your car far enough where it's impossible to know instantly who owns what house, but close enough where you can run to it in a single sprint.
-This is to ensure that someone can't specifically target you by seeing a car near a bunch of houses or apartments and just go straight for your property.

3A. Check all the houses prior to see the status of any breakins or tampering with their locks.
-This is crucial for the next part of finding a meta gamer.

4A. Place your house alarms INSIDE the house.
-Most likely whatever criminal activity you are going to do, you will be doing it in a specific room. That room should have an alarm, but it is not visible to the outside where someone can clearly tell someone is living there

Above is what you do to make sure its the least likely possible that someone knows where you are given that your weed doesnt smell, your actions dont make much if any noise such as farming, etc. Now we will discuss what to do if you are mugged/raided.

1B. When you are raided/mugged you could attempt to squeeze out any truth or garbage lie that someone comes up with when asking "how did you know i lived here"
-Remember, you are recording so any evidence to prove that he/she was meta gaming is crucial and if you can squeeze out lies such as "I saw your car" when your recording shows that your car is somewhere completely else is essential/important proof.

2B. After the raid has concluded check every single house near you to see if they have been lockpicked.
-This is possibly the biggest evidence needed to see if someone is truly Metagaming. With your house alarms inside, your car far away from you and you are out of plain sight, and you dont have any mechanics helping to pinpoint your house such as high sounds like a mircowave or the smell of weed, if your house is the only house that has been lockpicked, without a doubt that's serious evidence for using a rent NPC to find someone where they live.

3C. After you have the evidence: either through a soft confession and/or physical evidence such as your only house being targeted out of all the houses and apartments near you, you can make a report and hopefully its valid enough to get these users banned. In your video and reports I suggest this: timestamps
You are going to want to timestamp these moments in your video

-When you bought the property
-Where you parked your car
-Where is your house alarm
-Your criminal activity (to see if you have done anything that attracted the attention of someone)
-The mugging and possible confession
-Testing all the houses to see if they have been tampered or raided in

I believe that this is a sure way to find if someone is cheating using the Rent NPC. Again this is my opinion, but using evidence around you and making it less obvious that you live in a specific area should be enough evidence to catch these cheaters.

Chat below if you want to add, or just have a discussion about it if you think this is a good or bad way to gather evidence.

When renting a house there are garbage cans outside, so I don’t think there’s any point in parking your car far away

I'm not gonna lie this is a somewhat decent way to catch meta-gamers in my opinion, however to fully stop this from happening they should just remove the feature that tells you who owns it. It shouldn't say who owns the home or if it's owned, until the player tries to buy it. That way they are risking money on the many places to buy there are just to find someone to raid. They should also fix the garbage job so that ALL homes have the trash bins outside.

That wouldn’t make sense for all houses to have garbage bins

I think they couldn't lockpick other houses until they actually find one with inhabitants. You can only raid one house (player / pd / bank) every 1 hour, regardless of whether the previous raid was successful or not. In my understanding, if the raider is breaking down doors until he finds someone inside he is breaking the raid timer.

-Support but at least your trying to help the community and I would not follow this or you might end up reporting someone for meta when they did not meta.

It could work in say an apartment setting where garbage cans arent spawned in and if your door is the only door that gets attempted to break into, then thats sus.

Yea, but this still doesn't exclude the fact that some people meta-game to find what homes that are owned and purposely raid them. Just as how the people basing must be prepared to defend themselves, the people raiding must go through the effort of finding a home they can raid instead of meta-gaming just to find one.

When I raid I raid based on garbage cans not property doesnt matter how long you have owned it I choose a low pop house with garbage cans out front could be 2 min after you buy it could be 3 hours just because your car isnt there and you bought it recently does not prove meta

@Foxtrot0295 yes some people do meta game but some people don’t and it’s hard to tell if they did or didn’t. This is just a dumb idea period.
