Introduction
The cooking skill is used to make different foods. Those foods can then be eaten or sold to other players. Like other skills, leveling cooking is exponential, meaning it becomes harder as you level up.

This guide assumes previous experience with the fishing and farming skill. For more information, click
here to visit the guide hub.

Requirements
Players should buy the following items before proceeding with the guide.

  • Cooking Stove [Required]
  • Cooking Pots [Required]
  • Prep Table [Required]
  • Plates [Optional]
Visit the hardware store to purchase these items.

Preparing
Players can cook various foods and beverages, with each recipe calling for different ingredients and cooking times.

To view all the recipes, open your skill menu and click the dropdown menu for each item to reveal its ingredients and cooking time.

You might need to farm or fish for some ingredients. Other ingredients, such as cooking oil, must be purchased from the grocery store. You can find the store near the bridge across from the impound lot. New players must start with cooked meat, which requires raw meat and cooking oil, those ingredients can be purchased here.

Cooking
Players can use their ingredients to create a delicious food or beverage by using the cooking stove, preparation table, and plates.

> Cooking Stove
Use a cooking stove to turn ingredients into food or beverages. Visit the hardware store to purchase the following items: Cooking Stove and Cooking Pots.

To use it, find and rent any property with a standard outlet. Deploy the cooking stove and cooking pots. Use your physgun to freeze it in place and then plug it in. For each pot, open its inventory and insert the necessary ingredients for your recipe. Hold shift when dragging from a stack to only place one item. Place the pots near the cooking stove until they weld to it.

To start cooking, turn on the burners by clicking the red buttons. There will be a timer above each pot indicating how long it has been cooking for. When it reaches the cooking time directed by your recipe, turn off the burners and then right-click and drag each pot to the floor. Select the finish cooking option in the pot menu to receive the item.

> Preparation Table
Use a preparation table to prepare ingredients or to slice finished foods. Visit the hardware store to purchase one. No additional items are required.

To use it, find and rent any property. Deploy the prep table and open it. Place ingredients that can be prepared into the inventory and then click the knife or rolling pin. You can then drag the items back into the table inventory or into your own inventory by hovering over the box with the down arrow.

> Plates
Use plates to create hot-and-ready meals to eat. Visit the hardware store to purchase them. No additional items are required.

To use them, find and rent any property. Deploy a cooking stove and plug it in. Open your inventory and select a plate to open the meal menu. Drag and drop the food and beverage of your choice, name the meal, and then click finish. Eating the meal will give you a food buff which reduces the rate in which you lose thirst and hunger.

[!] Overcooking
Be careful not to overcook your food! Leaving the burner on past the recipe’s cooking time may result in mush.

[!] Overpreparing
Be careful not to roll or slice your food too much! Doing so may result in mush.

Profiting
Players can profit from cooking in a variety of ways.

> Grocery Store
Sell your food to the NPC. This option is not recommended because the NPC pays little money for your food. It is fine however if you intend to respend your money on other ingredients to level up. Sell your food when taxes are at 0% to maximize your profits.

> MonoMarket
Sell your food on the MonoMarket at a set amount per item. Access the MonoMarket by visiting the NPC at the bank. Open the selling tab and select and sell as much as you would like. Be aware that some sell orders may be fulfilled immediately while others take longer.

> MonoPages
Find players on the MonoPages app who are willing to buy your food. Access the app by using your phone. This has an advantage over MonoMarket in that all advertisements are made by players who are currently online.

Loving these updated guides brother! Additional tip I've learned in my chef'ing travels: The cooking pots, when placed on top of the prep table, can be interacted with through the prep table's menu. So you can load ingredients into the prep table's container, put the pots on top, then just open the prep table to load them with ingredients instead of holding E and opening each individual container.
