A description of your technical issue: Whenever I try to load into the server, my computer is basically unusable, when I try to do something as simple as opening file explorer, my screen freezes and then comes out as not responding, I often time out when trying to load into the server
Has it happened before?: You know how EU players couldnt download the right map after the update? At that time I thought it was on my end so I reinstalled my game. Since then I've had this problem, and I didn't this problem at all before the reinstall.
Extraneous details/description:

Other games works fine, I can play games such as rainbow six without any performance drops when I tab out of the game, so it's not due to my internet or PC specs.
My specs are:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6-core processor
8.00 GB RAM
GTX 750 TI
64x processor (I am running on the x64 version of the game)
Have you checked “solved” for your issue?:
Yes

Try verifying game cache to ensure u dont have any corrupted files.

Unsub from all useless addons that you may have, if you only play monolith then unsub from all and then redownload monoliths content pack and then verify game before running it again.

When you're downloading to join a server gmod takes a lot of time to do so and gmod doesnt run many cores so it freezes, this is why loading screens are mostly static, the loading times could be because of many addons, internet connection or server connection problems (such as ddos or loads of players connecting at the same time)

You could try to run garrys mod in windowed so you can still see gmod while its frozen but able to move the mouse (if u dont have 2 monitors)

I tried connecting to other servers and it worked fine. Only monolith causes the game to slow down, and I only have monolith addons

Monolith requires more than most servers

Even when I went on the testing server today, it ran so much smoother, and it has all the same files as the main one, but on the testing server there were only 2 ppl, so do you think its due to the amount of players on, as I often cant load in when theres 120+ ppl

you probably need more memory, also try to close programs using a lot of memory other than gmod
The thing is that this only happened recently, before I reinstalled the game it worked fine, and my game works fine on my laptop. Something must have changed since I reinstalled my game last time to make this happen.

Maybe you had configs to improve performance, my gmod always goes to shit after having to reinstall it again. Mostly it's just shit ton of addons, but i've never played gmod on anything lower than 4gb ram or a decent cpu.

I just suggest throwing in many performance configs and closing everything except gmod.

I see your problem now.... 8GB of ram, not even dual... You're basically running a shitty laptop lol
But you say it was smooth before, so clearly this is something you're missing.
I'd say if you can't "verify the integrity of your game cache"; you're beat.

Should I try and delete my addons folder/ or even my game and reinstalll them?
May I add its also smooth on other gmod servers, I tested it out on icefuze which also has customs maps and files. Would multicore rendering help in anyway. as I have 6 cores?

Multicore rendering does absolutely nothing on Garry's Mod; despite what servers or other people say. They never completed adding Mcore rendering to the game.
You could try deleting your addons folder and letting the game reinstall them; and after that if that doesn't work, unsubscribe from them all, just youtube it; pretty simple HTML script it gives you.

The answer yet, is a simple one and you've already heard.

Ryzen cpu's are usually best when they are paired with dual channel memory. So, that means to at least add another 8gb stick into your laptop if there's a extra spot or slapping a 16gb stick if there's only one. Unfortunately, that's all I have to offer and hopefully someone else can be more helpful than me to solve this problem.

Do you have too many addons? Having hundreds of addons can cause the game to crash. every. time.
Try to only have monolith addons when playing monolith, it helps a ton!
Have you solved your issue?

I don't have any addons. It is solved to a certain extent, as I load in faster and my computer doesnt completely freeze, however its not consistent, as from time to time I do still time out

Time out? Or crash?
Timing out is related to internet/network stuffs
Crashes is related to hardware/file errors, etc.
You don’t have any addons? How tf do you play lol
