It is the responsibility of all officers to stay up to date on policy and procedure. Lack of knowledge is not an excuse for a violation.


All law enforcement entities within the jurisdiction of the State of Monolith have entered into the following agreement. The following Standard Operating Procedures/Department Policy and regulations are shared among all branches of law enforcement. Excluding Federal entities including but not limited to: Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Agency, Central Intelligence Agency, and the Department of Defense.

1102.5. Pursuant to 1102.4. Detectives are required to utilize the Police issued vest, while having a Class A firearm equipped
1102.6. When conducting a raid, or during a robbery, Detectives must utilize their Police issued vest to properly identify themselves.
1102.7. An exemption may be granted to section 1102.6 if the Detective doesn’t have the time to put the vest on during a immediate life threating scenario.
1102.8 An exemption may be granted to section 1102.4 if no Lieutenant or above is on duty. In this scenario, Detectives may go to who ever is the highest on Duty to seek permission. However, once a Lieutenant or above is on duty, Detectives must request permission as stated in 1102.4

8004. At no point in time will an officer of any rank handle an investigation that is involving themselves. Nor, shall an officer attempt to change, intimidate, harass, or discourage another officer from doing their job.
8004.1 Should an issue arise where one officer requests an investigation, they shall immediately report on the forums. They shall not involve themselves in the investigation by utilizing rank, position, or monetary gain to elicit a response from other involved parties.

It is the aim of this section to set out the structure and policy for a Chief suspension or removal.

DEFINITIONS
  1. Definitions related to this policy include
    1. Suspension - The act of temporarily suspending a Chief from active duty for a set period of time without the need to reapply.
    2. Removal - The act of permanently removing a Chief from active duty requiring the Chief to reapply to get the rank back.
For the removal of a Chief, the following requirements must be met:
  1. A Police Commander must complete a full internal report & full public response.
  2. Both Police Commanders shall be required to approve the removal.
  3. The Chief must be at or over 5 severity points.
  4. The final decision shall not be made until 48 hours after the fact.
    1. Until the final decision is made, a temporary suspension may be placed if required.
For the suspension of a Chief, the following requirements must be met:
  1. A Police Commander must complete a full internal report & response to the Chief.
    1. A Police Supervisor or Commander may place a temporary suspension during an emergency scenario until a full investigation can be conducted.
  2. During the suspension, the Chief should receive training on the policy(s) violated.
