What’s the best Call of Duty ever?

In my opinion, I think it’s world at war.
I grew up playing it everyday, and fresh restarted multiple times. It had one of the best zombies and multiplayer ever. The campaign was amazing and brutal af.

My 2nd would be MW2. Just classic memories.

Of all time? Probably World at War on paper, but I have a lot of fond memories of Black Ops I.

Now not the best by any means (the multiplayer was especially lacking), but Black Ops: Cold War really surprised me. I hadn't really played a CoD game in a very long time, and what little I had between Black Ops I and Cold War wasn't too special, so I didn't expect very much going in. They went in some pretty new directions in the campaign, which I felt paid off well. It didn't take itself overwhelmingly seriously either, which I again welcomed since some of the previous ones felt too gray at times. The zombies mode was fairly expansive as well. I had a lot of fun introducing my friend to it, who was in a similar boat as myself; he hadn't played the series in a long time, but ended up enjoying it more than he thought he would. So maybe it's a little kitschy, but I think it could be in contention as underrated (at least, I never see much discussion).

Black ops 2 and black ops 1 for me, they had the best story the best campaigns the best zombies, and the best MP that was COD's peak it was all downhill from there


also, fun fact the original infinity ward devs that made modern warfare left IW and founded respawn entertainment and created the greatest shooter of all time titainfall 2, and eventually apex.
