Reason for Report: Enforcing a rule not in the Rp Rules

I was mayor and he demoted me because I revoked someones gun license for fun. There is no rule saying I am not allowed to do that, nothing even close. If you are going to enforce a rule it has to be in the MOTD. You can't enforce an unwritten rule. I have no evidence as I was not recording at the time.

There was one person who could back up my claim, his ic name is James Harden, Steam name is Kurt, steam id is STEAM_0:0:131352618 he was there the entire time I was there and can confirm I did not do anything worthy of demotion.

Unfortunately not all scenarios can be stated within the server rules thread however it is common sense that revoking someone's gun license for "fun" as you stated is not a valid reason and this is why I deemed you were not fit to perform the duties bestow on you as mayor. I elaborate on why I decided to demote you from the mayor role further below where the rules you infringed are stated.

The rule I would first like to refer you to in this case is 1.1 shown below of which you were in infringement of as I stated above.

1.1 Your expected behaviour is not limited to the rules below. Use common sense: When in doubt if something you are doing might be against the rules, it could very well be. If you have any doubt, contact a staff member.

Expanding upon this you aren't liable for enforcing law breaks if you see that law breaks are occurring you need to contact the police like any other citizen would and speak to them about what you have seen only then you may take action's into your own hands by doing such actions. If you want to enforce a more strict gun licensing procedure consult with the police department and speak to them however what you have described is not allowed.

Fail Rp also is present in this case as it isn't realistic for any law enforcing body to revoke peoples permits/license's for the fun of it and this would result in sanctions in a realistic setting.

• FailRP - Actions performed by your character that are not realistic and do not correlate with the setting of the server and your roleplay role.

I hope this sheds light on why I decided to take this stance on the matter I also hope that you can takeaway why I took the stance I did from this reply.

Without evidence a staff report cannot be processed thoroughly, so I will go off the two statements given here.

You say you removed a gun license for fun alone, which, as @Benpd05 stated, would fall under FailRP. Anything you do in the gamemode is for fun, but you should have an RP reason to perform an action. Some options while roleplaying as mayor would be (but is not limited to):

-Revoking licenses to instate a much more strict gun registry
-Revoking licenses to reassess those who have licenses
-Working with the police chief on who to give licenses to

Akin this to playing as police chief and demoting someone on duty "for fun". Yes you are in a position of power, but that doesn't mean you should do it without a valid reason. Given your history on the server was taken into account, a demotion for this action is plausible and reasonable. I cannot speak for how the sit went without video.
