BUD E. PUDLEY III
Braxton Elliot "Bud" Pudley III (Born May 13th, 1969) is a Canadian-American
police officer, politician, businessman, jurist, and broadcaster. He has previously served
as Representative for Washington's 11th Congressional District, and
is a contributor on KEOC-TV. He was also formerly a candidate for
Governor of Washington in 2018.
EARLY LIFE
Braxton Elliot Pudley III was born on May 13th, 1969 at Monoford General Hospital to Braxton Richard Dalmore Ryder Pudley II, more commonly known as just Richard D. Ryder, and Monica (nee Elliot) Pudley. Richard Ryder was a career officer in the Monoford Police Department and heir to the Pudley Cocao holdings on the Caribbean island of Guarma, and Monica Elliot was a freelance journalist from Vancouver, British Columbia, just on the other side of Pine County.
The Pudley family is often regarded in political circles as the "Kennedys of the West". The family has produced three Congressmen, a Governor of California, and a Vice President. On his mother's side, Bud Pudley is the great-great-grandson of 9th Prime Minister of Canada, Arthur Meighan.
Bud Pudley graduated from Pre-Law at his mother's Alma Mater of the University of British Columbia, and he received his law degree with honours from his father's Alma Mater of Stanford. He is a member of the Alpha Delta Phi fraternity.
EARLY CAREER
Pudley moved back to Monoford from California after graduating, and after working for his father's Cocao company for a few years, he joined the Monoford Police Department in 1999 during the tumultuous administration of Mayor James Hawke. He was promoted and worked in Internal Affairs with the MFPD for a few years before becoming a Detective in 2006, and was promoted to Detective Sergeant in 2013. Pudley retired from full-time police work in 2016 to pursue his political career.
CONGRESSIONAL CAMPAIGN AND UNSUCCESSFUL RUN FOR GOVERNOR
In 2016, Bud Pudley ran a successful campaign for Washington's 11th Congressional District, promising to bring good-paying jobs back to Monoford after years of wage stagnation. He worked with House Speaker Peter Bryan and Senate Majority Leader Clyde McCalister to pass a bipartisan bill to increase traffic at the Port of Boxer and other smaller ports up and down the west coast, decreasing shipping times and creating hundreds of new jobs in inspection and longshoring. In 2018, Pudley announced a run for Governor of Washington, but was narrowly beaten in an upset by Republican property developer and owner of Ronnie's from Rockford, Oregon, Ronald Rump.
LATER CAREER
Pudley returned to Monoford, Washington from Washington D.C. and quickly established himself into a successful practice in downtown Monoford; Larson, Parsons, and Pudley Attorneys at Law. He's been called upon a few times to serve as Monoford County Judge while the Mayor has been too busy to intervene in cases. Recently, Pudley has also started working with KEOC-TV, the local Monoford affiliate, as a sportscaster and executive producer of locally syndicated shows. He's best known as the local play-by-play announcer for the Monoford Fraggers of the GMOD Major Baseball League.
PERSONAL LIFE
Pudley is married to Gemma M. Pudley, and has two children; Benjamin D. Pudley and Rachel R. Pudley.
