This guide will begin with a general overview of EMS and the activities they may perform, and will then be separated into the job position you hold

The requirements for each position, as well as their salaries, are found below, and can also be found at the EMS Recruiter:
  • Medic Intern:
    • Player Level: 1
    • Medic Level: 1
    • Salary: $950
  • Paramedic
    • Player Level: 5
    • Medic Level: 10
    • Salary: $1,950
  • EMS Director
    • Player Level: 25
    • Medic Level: 50
    • Salary: $2,950

Both player and medic experience can be gained by completing missions, healing people, or reviving players.

EMS Rules and Regulations

As a Monolith Emergency Medical Services employee, you are not to engage in external for-profit activities while holding your job title. This includes, but is not limited to, being a for-hire medic, healing players for money, and being paid to follow players around. You must wait until combat has ended before you can begin to heal someone (the game has an in-game system to prevent this from happening), and you may not enter an active combat zone to provide first aid. You are also not licensed to carry any firearms while employed.

Healing

Tending to any player as a Monolith EMS employee is very simple. While employed by Monolith EMS, you will receive an everlasting first aid kit. You can equip your First Aid kit by pressing the number two until you reach it or scrolling your wheel until it is highlighted and left-clicking. You can then left-click any injured player to heal them, after a short delay. You can also right-click to heal yourself. Your first aid kit will heal in increments of 20, and you can see the player's health underneath their name. You may not move while tending to someone, or the healing will cancel. You may also get an error if they are still combat tagged.

Normal Healing

Healing Errors

Healing will only have two errors. The player is either full health or has recently been in combat. You can see these in the top right corner of your screen when clicking a player with your med kit. You can see the combat error below.

Missions

All three levels of employment will have access to missions. Missions offer access to experience and money for EMS employees waiting to be engaged in a 911 call. Once you accept a mission, you have 3 minutes to proceed to a designated location and use your first aid kit (left-click) on one or multiple NPCs. You will receive money and experience for each NPC saved.

Sometimes, NPCs will be “uncooperative” and will require you to get as close as possible to them to heal them. Sometimes the best way to do this is to stand directly on them.

Surgery (Reviving players)

Surgery is our way of reviving players whose health has reached zero. When a player's health has reached zero, they will become incapacitated. They will fall to the floor and be unable to speak, move, or commit any other action.

When this happens, you can check the player's pulse by holding E, moving your mouse to select the “Check Pulse” option, and left-clicking. This will then give you a notification on the top left of your screen telling you the player's pulse. If you are unable to feel a pulse when you check their pulse, unfortunately, they have already passed, and there is nothing more that you can do for them. If you can feel a pulse, no matter how strong or weak, you can equip your defibrillators and stabilize the patient. Your defibrillators can be equipped by pressing the number 4 or using the same technique described for the first aid kit. Once you equip them, left-clicking the patient will begin to stabilize them. Just like healing, moving will cancel this action. However, this one takes 5 seconds instead of one second. You can then take stabilized players to the surgery room located in the back of any hospital, either by right-clicking the body and moving it to the surgery room or via stretcher, which will be discussed later, and speak with the NPC to operate upon them to return them to life. Please note that you may not move while performing surgery and that the patient must remain nearby. If you move or the patient is moved too far, the surgery will fail and must be restarted. If you have issues with other players moving or blocking access to your patients, the police department would be more than happy to help.

Ambulances

Both paramedics and the EMS director will have access to spawn in an ambulance. Ambulances come with life-saving tools that can help transport patients to hospitals. This will be discussed in the guide, but to point it out now, Medic Interns are not certified to drive any ambulances, and doing so can qualify as FailRP. However, Medic Interns are allowed to use any equipment onboard an ambulance to assist a patient. If you are certified to drive an ambulance, you can spawn one at any hospital garage. If your ambulance requires maintenance or gasoline, you may take it back to any garage and have another one prepared.

Using an Ambulance/Stretcher

All Monoford ambulances come equipped with two stretchers. These can be accessed by going toward the back sides of an unlocked ambulance (where the “Emergency 9-1-1” is located) and holding E. This will allow you to open the back doors of the ambulance.

AD_4nXds3jUxjGZ_Bwk87ZLanT57NBiq1WGzleAnhdf4KVlQ0_KYiuglGjFpbj4dIePztmMvrYUMQGZgw7Vww6QquQn56MBIH6sCu5QHiVOcXTGWSRF5tQGvt3eLGTSPvMv6yYzZxyMl

Once the back doors are opened, you can access either stretcher in the ambulance. When you pull one out, you can move it by equipping your hands and right-clicking. Stretchers can be heavy and may turn upside down when carried like this. Do not worry about the orientation of the stretcher, even if the patient is on it, as they are protected while on the stretcher. Once a patient is stabilized (meaning you have used your defibrillator on them), you may place them on the stretcher by bringing it close to the patient, holding E on the stretcher, and selecting the “Put the patient on” option. You can then bring the stretcher back to the back of the ambulance and select the “Put into ambulance” option. Remember which stretcher number you put them on, as it will be the same when you arrive at the hospital.

Once you arrive at the hospital, you can unload the stretcher again and transport it directly to a surgery room. There is no need to take the patient off the stretcher, as you can perform surgery with them on the stretcher. Once your surgery is complete, don’t forget to load the stretcher back into the ambulance before you leave!

Police Interactions

Sometimes, you may be asked by on-duty police officers to assist in a raid or 911 call. This may include reviving criminals or being directed to a location to give medical care. Please note that you are NOT allowed to enter an active combat area. The best way to go about this during a raid is to wait outside of the location being raided while the police are handling the issue. The police will then inform you when the building is clear to enter. You may also be able to wait in the lobby or any other area outside the active combat zone. Another thing to mention is that police are NOT immune to combat healing. You may not heal a police officer while they are in combat. If they would like to be healed, they should come to whatever location you are waiting at to wait for their combat timer to expire before being healed. If you are tasked with transporting a criminal, please be sure that the officer handcuffs him before he is placed on the stretcher!

Roles & Responsibilities

Medic Intern

As a medic intern, you may stay at the hospital and help anyone seeking treatment. You may also find an on-duty paramedic by using your radio (B key by default) or by finding them in person. If you find a paramedic, you can ride along with them in their ambulance. This means you can do missions, respond to 911 calls, etc. Once again, as a Medic Intern, you are NOT allowed to drive any ambulance. Even if a paramedic permits you, you cannot drive their ambulance. You are allowed to use any equipment in an ambulance, including the stretchers as described above, but you may not drive it. If an EMS director is online, you must listen to their directions. Failure to do so can result in removal from your position.

Paramedic

As a Paramedic, you can spawn your own ambulance, respond to 911 calls, and treat patients as you see fit. You are highly encouraged to take Interns along with you to train them so that they become capable Paramedics. If an EMS director is online, you must listen to their directions. Failure to do so can result in removal from your position.

EMS Director

As the EMS director, you can see to your duties as you see fit. This includes, but is not limited to, acting as a 911 dispatcher, spawning your own ambulance and engaging in 911 calls, joining the police radio to coordinate activities with them, etc. You are also responsible for all of the Monolith EMS employees. This means you can remove people from their positions in the department using your tablet. Please note that you are not able to fire employees without cause. You must have a justifiable reason to demote someone. This can include, but is not limited to, failure to follow given orders, complaints from other members of the department/other government officials, complaints from patients, etc. Removing someone from their position is your sole discretion, but removals without reason can fall under corruption.
