I've had my headset for about two years now and it's always worked fine, however the cord sometimes tends to stick to my chair's arm support causing the headset to get pulled and fall on the floor. This doesn't happen frequently and the headset has never been broken because of it. Now it's happened one too many times and the sound is all messed up. I can hear people talking (but it's a bit off) and sound is just muted or very quiet and distorded. I took the thing that's fluffy and isolating at the ear off and saw a crack in one of the sides of the headset, the other side has a bit that's gone off but it's at the edge so it won't affect the wiring. I opened up the headset's sides but nothing seemed off. There were no wires cut or holes.

What's wrong with the headset? And should I buy a new one then?

(No I don't know which headset it is, it's been a while.)

Probably just buy a new one, I doubt you'll be able to fix it. I just picked up some Logitech G430s for my birthday a few days ago. Work great so far. Also only around $80

I managed to fix the sound now, but I'm probably going to wreck it again some time.
