So ever since the new map was put into place, the devs split the PD with the City PD and the Rural one. This was a cool RP idea and an easier way for the police to be able to respond to certain things outside of their reach. The issue that I have with the current state is that the rural PD only has deputies. There is no Sheriff or Sergeants or any other higher person in the chain of command. I recommend that the rural PD gets two higher ranks being Enforcer and Sheriff. Enforcer is higher than Deputy but is still lower than Sheriff while Sheriff is the head of the area. Of course, he's not the highest rank in the entire command as the Chief would outrank him. This would add more to the roleplaying aspect while also giving the deputies a little more firepower in that area since they're the first ones to respond to a prison break or the ones to investigate some hidden drug operation.
My other reason is that it is weird that it's called "The Sheriff's Department" without a Sheriff? It just seems a bit odd in hindsight. Overall though. The main reason for these ideas is to add more to the rural area PD and resolve some issues that they have which are both missing roles and needed firepower.
Anyways, that's my opinion on the matter. I would love to hear from everybody else on what they think about it.
