An officer Cobey Castalone (TwewT BoobS) drove into my car at Kappel's and tried to give me what I deemed a false ticket for illegal parking. I was parked off to the side, there was plenty of room for cars to pass by. He started to write the ticket, which I felt was invalid and therefore corrupt, so I shot him. I was then given a verbal by @Ber506 I tried to explain that IRL this would be valid parking since there is room for other vehicles to pass, He said something to the effect that it only applies to "residential" (pic of storefront curb parking below for reference). Also there is not a single sign/curb paint or any other marker indicating a No Parking Zone. I took photos after the fact of exactly how I had my car parked, as you can see there is room for cars to pass. This would be a legal place to park where I live... This isn't a report, which is why it's in this section. I merely request clearification on the parking situation here, and if possible, the verbal stricken from my record. 20220319104029_1.jpgScreenshot_14.jpg

You were impeding the flow of traffic, hence why i gave you a ticket.

There wasn't any traffic, as there weren't many players on and as stated, there was room for cars to pass. You drove on the wrong side of the road, and rammed pretty forcefully into my car. This plus false ticketing lead to the assumption of corruption. *The ramming of my vehicle happened at around 10:20ish am CST if someone wishes to check the logs on my car around then* Edit in*

Don't take this as an official stance or anything, but in my opinion parking your car there does impede the flow of traffic, if a larger vehicle (EX: A raptor or box truck) came through, they could not safely do so due to the placement of your vehicle. However, I don't think that gives @TwewT a reason to intentionally ram into your vehicle.

I didn't intentionally ram it. It was impeding the flow of traffic, so i had to move it so i could get by.

@heyitskev noted, will be more careful going forward. @TwewT you rammed it and immediately got out.

*edit* Upon further consideration, I do agree, given the limited space for travel on the map in this area, and the size of some of the public vehicles that I was in fact parked illegally and deserved a ticket. However, this doesn't change the fact that I felt threatened by the actions of the Officer in question. Since, I was walking out of the shop and to my vehicle about to initiate the menu to get in when he came down the wrong way of a one way street and smashed into my car, had it been only moments later, he would have done damage to me directly in the vehicle. I didn't even see him until he rammed my car, jumped out, and started writing the ticket. *edit*

You were lucky the staff at time just gave you a verbal, pretty nice choice from him compared to the gravity of your allegedly offense.

It occurs to me that I should have asked at some point, what actually is a "verbal"? Is it a warning point? If not then that's a non issue. I am unfamiliar with the administrative actions on this server for the most part, as I've never been on the receiving end. I was slightly frustrated at the time of the incident due to the officers actions, and at the time felt like my parking was valid (again, not considering the larger vehicles) so I lead with that information, which @Ber506 rightly argued against, and being frustrated and not wanting to directly argue with a staff member's decision more than I already had (Sorry for being rude), failed to mention (I think?) the ramming of my vehicle as I was about to enter it. That's on me... Would it have changed the outcome? Probably not, I guess the real issue is the few bad eggs that abuse police authority (not to say that @TwewT is one of them, as I don't really know them) generating a bit of distrust of the police force, it happens, not like you can do background checks. I'll be more careful with my actions regarding what is considered legit KOS. Which I may have incorrectly assumed I had, given the reckless driving, ramming of my car, and disregard for my safety standing next to said car. I considered this an unpredictable, and potentially further threat to my safety.

A "verbal" warning is simply a staff member warning you not to do something again. Verbal warnings are typically put in your record, so if you were to commit the same offense after receiving a verbal, you likely wouldn't receive another one and would receive a warning point instead. It's essentially saying "If you do this again, you will likely be punished"

I've always hated that bit of the map, and don't like that there's no signage posted saying you cannot park/fire lanes (Fire lanes would be very very useful fyi, coming from someone who plays FD a lot). Based on the circumstances, I'd say it's kind of an asshole thing to give a ticket seeing as there's fewer than average players on at the time of incident, and it's not "illegal parking" per say, but definitely impeding traffic, but again, I personally wouldn't have given that ticket unless I personally observed it affecting the proper flow of traffic. Also, any half-braincell person would realise it's not a smart idea to try and bring their massive vehicles on those roads, there's like 3 or 4 detour routes that don't even take any extra time, so if someone with a massive vehicle gets stuck that's more of their fault imo. Either way, there are 3 parking lots located on either end of that bit of road, along with a closed off parking garage entrance that nobody uses, and you could just have easily parked and walked from one of those places.

Yea, normal I wouldn't leave my car out since people tend to shell out wildly expensive tickets for minor infractions. I left it due to the amount of players at the time and I was just running in for a few minutes set up the very few outfits I own in my wardrobe. I'll for sure take more caution in parking when I'm unable to just store the vehicle.

Well that reaction is technically the purpose of a ticket so, can't say it didn't work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thank you for this information, I feel like that's completely fair as it's not something I intend to make a habit. There is a lot to take in on Monolith, and I'm still playing catch up to a lot of the playerbase.

sorry for my late input Iv been busy and just seen this and yes I said you can’t park there Because it was a one-way street and normally you don’t park on a one way street unless it’s very wide and allows for parking like the picture you provided, but in the map the street is not that wide and is also the reason there is another lane to use, that area you can consider it a plaza if you will with multiple stores, it would be a high traffic area with cars to just drive through and people walking in the sidewalk as well, so in this situation you would not park on the curb because then you would also people in pedestrians ways and your normally not suppose to park on the curb anyways, you would get a ticket for doing so and that’s why you cop at the time gave you the ticket, it’s also why I didn’t punish you and just left it as a verbal warning because I understand the rules in this are kinda vague and may be situational, there was no bad intent when he reported just a miss understanding on the rules from your part and it happens, that why I didn’t issues a punishment and left it as a verbal, and just said next time don’t park there, I under the server may have been a low population at the time but you still have to follow the rules and since he was RPing as a cop he did what he normally would do, but like I said there was no bad intentions, just explained the rules to you and voided the sit, if you have more questions for me plz feel free to ask, again sorry for the late reply been busy lately

You're fine, after some time and perspective, I am way past over it. The post was an overreaction because I didn't think first to ask what a "verbal" means, and assumed it was worse.
