So, just now I received some warning points for RDM. I'd misinterpreted rules regarding what could count as initiation to kill a warring gang member. I'm not disputing that I was in the wrong here.
However, as we are now at the correct format, I'd like to use this opportunity to discuss some of the warning points that lead to this.
I can't speak for all cases, as I don't have the data, but I am aware of two incidents, where I was issued warning points for situations that were not breaking the rules. The latter case lead me to write a feedback thread about the importance of a guideline.
There are certainly some warning points that I did earn, and I won't cheapen this by pretending that I never make mistakes - I think it's a credit to the rule system that it is in some senses, impartial - but I want to use this opportunity to raise the point that warning points should only be issued when a rule has been broken.
I of course, add this to the understanding that it is not technically possible to add a rule for all situations, barring very open to interpretation catch-all rules, and I do also compliment the fullness and deliberation that has gone into creating the rules as they currently stand.
So, in summary, I messed up the last warning points issued, and I don't dispute those, but I do think a couple of cases of mine, and perhaps others, deserve re-examination.
