Since VCMod's performance and FPS handling is complete trash, i'm making a basic guide how to get rid of that pile of poop.

This will disable lights, but who cares about the cops' lights and stuff.

Step 1:
Type !vcmod in chat.

Step 2: Click options, then click personal at the top.

Step 3:
UNCHECK the "Enabled clientside"
I unchecked every single box in all tabs, because why not.

Keep in mind that disabling this will also hide your vehicle condition from you (at least it did when I tried)

By disabling client side you don’t need to uncheck everything else because it already disable everything in vcmod.

VCMod settings have already been tweaked server-side with performance in mind. Many of those checkboxes will have no effect since they are already disabled on the server (for example, tire tracks and sparks).

Don't touch Third Person View - It will screw up your third person camera in vehicles and has 0 impact on your FPS.
Don't disable ELS - you need to be able to see it for roleplay and 95% of the time it won't affect your FPS.

If you find your FPS has improved by using this guide, great, go for it. However, I don't recommend following this guide by just unchecking every box that you see. You could maybe play around with a few things such as visibility distance and some of the lighting settings, testing them one at a time to see if it makes a difference (although I doubt they will). At the end of the day the only thing that can provide you a significant FPS boost is enabling multicore; thats just how GMod is unfortunately.

As @ArcticSalad said, VCmod settings on the server have been tweaked in the sense that it will increase FPS by default and still allow roleplay functionality with vehicles.

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS: If you have VCMod functions disabled such as lights and sirens, you need to understand that it WILL interfere with your roleplay experience, and disabling such settings will hold you accountable for any rule-breaks that arise from it. For example, you will be at fault for situations that you do not notice police chasing you at times. Examples are not just limited to the one provided.

This thread will be locked for now but will remain here.
