We were raiding a base and in the corner of my eye I saw someone sneaking up on us from the side we were heavily outgunned so I then proceeded to ram the guy hiding behind the building. Before he pulled out a gun and started shooting at the car as he saw my teammate. https://plays.tv/s/M5U8xhBd84bU
I believed that it was only VDM and Faildriving if you're running people over without a valid RP reason. I and my friends were in the middle of raiding a base in which the owners were running around with assault rifles. In the corner of my eye, I saw an individual peek the corner and believed that he was one of the base owners and could possibly shoot us as we made our exit. So then I proceeded to ram the individual and then attempt to flee the raid area as the police were arriving. I then logged of later on and then awoke to find out that I had been banned for a week I had recorded every single thing that happened during my playtime.
As confirmed by @Thy I broke the VDM rule as I had a machete as an alternative weapon to the vehicle however I was misinformed on the VDM rules believing that VDM was "The process of killing people without valid In-Character reasons - just with a vehicle. " in which I had a valid RP reason to use the vehicle as we were raiding however.
I never saw that under the PVP rules "Vehicle Deathmatch is not allowed without a proper reason. You may use your vehicle as a weapon if your or a befriended life is in immediate danger and no other option of self-defense is available. "
I apologize for my lack of education in the rules as I believed that I wasn't breaking any rules as I took the definition of VDM as the literal rule rather than remembering what Section 2.2.3 states. I received previous encounters of people using vehicles as weapons although they had guns and believed simply that it was allowed in RP situations https://plays.tv/s/M5WPOi2z1e9z. I will ensure that nothing like this happens again on my part.
