A description of your technical issue: Crashing when standing on "Starting Lua"
Has it happened before?: Never
Extraneous details/description:

So yesterday, I was able to play without any problems. But now today, it seems like I am crashing every time. I have tried everything.
This is what I've tried:
Re-installing gmod
Unsubbing from all addons/Resubbing to them.
Giving gmod more ram
Keep in mind, I have tried factorry resetting, but it won't let me type the "Y".
Have you checked “solved” for your issue?:
Yes

Are you running gmod on 64bit? If not I suggest moving over to it, as it is more stable.

I had the same issue but i have fixed it for now.

First make sure to remove your lua cache (not the actual, folder but its contents):
F:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\cache\lua

That helped me to at least be able to connect (but my game then crashed after 1 or 2 seconds whilst initialising)

But the key seems to be 64 bit indeed: (righklick on gmod in the steam libary, select "properties", klick "betas" and choose 64 bit)
