First, I'd like to introduce myself. In game most everyone knows me by my RP name, Mike. Otherwise, you may have seen me in OOC as Sushi. I used to play on Monolith back when it was on Rockford. I took a massive break and came back for a few weeks during Paralake, Truenorth, and now Monoford. I really hope I am here to stay this time, at least for a good while. I am writing this thread today because I'm a little concerned with the health of our community and server as whole. I would like to make a personal attempt at putting as much effort as I can to bring our community together and build this server to be as big as it once was, or even bigger.
Today, at roughly 4:00am CST I was in the server with @PhaseBootz @DystopianRaven and @Breiceheidd and something crazy happened. I did the impossible. I was able to make up with Phase Boots. I also convinced Phase Boots and Viktor to give each other another chance. And Viktor and Jaci to give each other another chance. For those of you that haven't been paying attention, or don't know any of the drama or reports. These combination of players arguably have among the most hatred against each other in the server. And today I was able to convince everyone to get along and give each other a second chance. We have all agreed to hop on the server later today/tomorrow to attempt roleplaying WITH each other in peace. We stood in front of the hospital casually talking out of character and making up. It was quite a beautiful moment, and I'm very proud of all of us for being able to step up and do the right thing.
I would like to propose that we as whole try and do our part at improving ourselves. Whether that means being less toxic. Breaking less rules. Helping new players. Anything you can think of. Just do better, BE better. We are lucky to have such an amazing developed server, I hate to see the server slowly lose players like this. I really think if we come together, we can rebuild the server to be as good as it once was in its prime. If we show Monolith management that we care about the server, we care about the community, and that we are willing to make changes for the better, I have full faith that it will motivate the staff to also work on more improvements, and most importantly, work with us, to create a better experience for everyone.
Right now we all know that the majority of the server does not like Phase Boots. He knows this just as well as I do. I made up with him this morning and had a pretty good conversation with him. We actually talked about a few things we had in common and I've come to learn that he's actually a really cool guy. We just had some stupid drama that built up and got in the way of what can potentially become a good friendship. I am personally asking that every single member of this community, and staff members, to please give Phase Boots another chance. He has pledged, and we have screenshots, that he will no longer mass report players for the most petty reasons. He won't be bothering the staff as much for the littlest things. We just want to roleplay and enjoy a good time together.
I'm also begging on my knees for an early ban appeal on some key players that I genuinely believe have good intentions to roleplay and are faithful to Monolith. These players I believe play in a group together, but they are @Weedle and @evhn . I think after reading my post and considering what they were banned for, they will put a lot more thought and consideration into their actions in the future and will better behave in accordance with the server rules. These players are what you would call regulars and I think we need as much help as we can get right now to keep the server populated.
While I'm on the topic of regulars, I'd like to shoutout some names. I have met some incredible people on this server, and I have personally witnessed these people help other new players and get along with so many others on the server. These are people I like to see as role models. I know I will forget some, as I have many so many of you, and I'm sorry if I did not list you. Please don't take offense. This is just a short list of some of the people I had recent interactions with that make it easy to remember.
Stef Dank, G_Clappa, SoySauceBoi, Jaci Wong, Tyler Gard, Emmi Rose, Puvz, Cool Boy, DK, RX, Dido, Egg, Brea, Viktor Sokolov, Not Vlad Putin, and many more. All of these people have made my experience in Monolith significantly better and it means a lot to me. So, HUGE thank you for being you, and I hope you all continue to play as much as you do for a long long time.
Separately we have staff. I have personally had great RP and staffing interactions with Afash (who by the way is hilarious), Shain, Ber, Nex, Spaced Sloth, Backflare. I have not played with, but have also had a pleasure talking to our community leaders, PMX and Gurra who are both fantastic and intelligent individuals. Thank you so much to all of these staff members, and everyone else that I did not list. We appreciate you for your efforts and what you do for our community.
Anyways, to sum it all up. I just want everyone to get along. I'm tagging you @PMX in hopes that you will take into consideration my ban appeal on behalf of weedle and evhn as well as possibly revoking a warning point or 2 from phase boots. I believe he's border line from being banned, but I genuinely believe that is about to be on his best behavior and be a contributing member of Monolith. To my understanding, he has 7 points and 8 gets a ban. We all make mistakes, and I'd hate to see him get banned from an honest mistake in the future. Ultimately it's your decision, but I am begging for your help to assist me on the improvement of this community. I genuinely believe it's time for everyone to come together as a community and help us rebuild. I hope we can all pitch in good ideas that will help us get our player count up again.
And lastly, I'd like to plug my semi-sarcastic #voteforsushi #sushiforstaff2022 #makemonogreatagain <3 I love all of you that have been flooding OOC with that recently. Your support means a lot to me, more than you know. And if I ever make it to staff on Monolith, I will put every bit of my heart into this community.
