Admin being reported( Tag by writing @ before their forum name): @gm1003 ツ

Reason for Report: I made a post yesterday asking for clarification on a rule, and I got a violation on the forums for "Inappropriate behavior". Here is the screenshot of the post in question, along with the post since it has been published even though I got a violation for it. (https://monolithservers.com/forums/threads/clarification-on-the-death-penalty.29943/#post-182526) In the post, I stated what happened. I made no threats, no trolling, no insults, no abuse, and yet my post is labeled as a disrespectful post. He outlined the entire post as being disrespectful and not a quoted segment. I stated what happened and got warned for it. I didn't call anyone stupid, or throw any insults anywhere in my post.

I saw a player ask if another person does anything else other than being a cop and they got the same violation as well by GM1003. https://monolithservers.com/forums/threads/gm1003-staff-report.29709/#post-181864

It's absurd to think that if I ask for clarification, then I can get warned for being seen as disrespectful. I don't believe you should be giving violations to people who ask questions.

I don't think citing a denied staff report really helps your case, but that's just my opinion.

or throw any insults anywhere in my post.
Baseless accusations like "staff making up rules" are definitely insulting. I thought the forum infraction was pretty obvious, but if you didn't understand it then I'm telling you it was for that reason.

1. First off, you are lying right here. Don't make it sound like I said things that I've never said. I never said "staff making up rules" ANYWHERE in my post. I worded my sentence to not sound bluntly disrespect as you put it.

See my original post above to see exactly what was said.

Looking back over, this is the line I was warned for since I noticed a forum moderator edited my post and took out the last sentence.

"If there are extra rules besides 5.3.3 for the death penalty to be allowed, then I feel that they should be clearly stated in the rules. From my perspective it seems like these are just extra steps that were made up on the spot by these 2 admins."

More specifically, I cannot say "From my perspective, it seems like these are just extra steps that were made up on the spot by these 2 admins"? Because that's too disrespectful for the forums? I didn't insult anyone, I provided reasoning for my constructive criticism, and I'm still warned.

Since you brought up "Baseless accusations like staff making up rules" in that linked post - I pointed out in that post that the 2 steps the admins wanted me to do were not in the rules. Nowhere in the rules does it say as Mayor, police cannot send someone to jail and have the death penalty executed there for mass murder, it also does not say in the rules that the mayor must make a law saying people can have the death penalty (The death penalty is already federally legal in the US, just like tinted windows are federally illegal and don't need to be made an ingame law). Hence why I said I felt that those 2 staff were making up rules since what they said wasn't in the rules.

If this is allowed, this sets a precedent that people can't speak from their perspective when constructively criticizing the server in a general discussion post because they might get a warning for being "disrespectful"

Edit: I'll add this onto the last sentence's topic. I can now confirm that I legitimately get a slight worry or anxious feeling when I go to post on the forums because of the possibility of getting a warning point even when I've read the rules and been on these forums for over 3 years. People can't even make some PG rated jokes because doing so can be seen as disrespectful by a Senior Administrator, even if the recipient of the joke is totally cool with it. This is what happened in the recent staff report against GM that I cited in my OP above. https://monolithservers.com/forums/threads/gm1003-staff-report.29709/#post-181864
It's hard for players to point out the bad that occurs on Monolith that people don't like to hear, even if it's true because of myself and others who have gotten warning points for doing so. Even when I post in a constructive manner, with links and evidence to back up my claims, I'm still given a warning point. This has happened not once, but twice to myself personally on this forum in the past 2 weeks alone.

I'll make a new post since the one above is already clogged up.

I honestly feel like GM1003 targets players he does not like. Here's why:

GM lightly mocks the OP in this thread Yet when this OP asks a question, probably in a light joking manner - asking if someone plays anything other than cop - Gets warned by GM (https://monolithservers.com/forums/threads/gm1003-staff-report.29709/#post-181864)
[You may wonder, why do you care Drew if someone lightly mocks another person? Even if they didn't complain? - I play D1 football, gone through 3 years of university after being initiated into a fraternity (banter with 60+ guys everyday) and would say I don't take offense to lotta things. Why do I care if I'm not personally offended? Because it's hypocritical and wrong to punish one person and then go do something similar yourself. Also wrong to use your powers against people you personally dislike because you can at the slightest hint of a possibility of getting away with it.]

He’s stated in a previous staff report that he blocked me on discord because he doesn’t like me (He edited it out after he posted it here: https://monolithservers.com/forums/threads/staff-spawning-npcs-at-a-police-raid.27935/post-169051) - Staff can see his post before he edited it, that it contains that- even though we’ve literally had one or two conversations regarding the marketing team on there dating almost 2 years ago.

After I found out he’s hosting content for another GMod RP server and asked about it in the Monolith discord, I was suddenly banned from another discord server which he is a Senior staff member on.
I know Monolith doesn't deal with actions taken on non-monolith discords by other staff members, but this is proof that he does not like me and that he targets players he does not like.

Hello,

Thank you for your report. After review, gm did misuse his forum powers. What you posted was not out of line and it is not the goal of a forum moderator to silence and/or punish genuine discussion. An edit of your post would have sufficed. This has been discussed and relayed to gm, and he understands that he overstepped and will keep it in mind for future administrating of the forums.
The part about other communities and Discords is not relevant to his staffing here.

No further action required at this time. Concluded.
