At some point, I believe anyone who has mined for a long period of time has been kicked for AFK Mining. It's annoying, it sucks and caught too many times gets you banned. Most of the time, people are just doing something else on their computer and dont realize they are mining for so long that when they come back they get kicked.
I believe i found a solution that may work for some, but not for others. So Gmod has 3 different settings when it comes to how you view the game.

-Run In a Window
-Borderless Window
1. Full Screen is what MOST people play on currently and that means in order to use anything on your computer, you have to minimize the game which is what most people do AFK Mining.
2. Run In a Window is an option is where the game has a border like any other tab you open (Google Chrome for example) and has a minimize button as well as a close out button.
PROS
-You can adjust the size of the window
-You have an minimize option instead of pressing the window key to leave
CONS
-You can accidentally close out your game if you arent careful with where your mouse is
3. Borderless Window is basically run in the window but as the name states, it doesnt have a border. It's basically a miniature version of full screen.
PROS
-You dont have to worry about closing out your game
CONS
-You cant move the game left or right. its smack in the middle of your computer
-You have to use the window button to leave the game and go to your other tabs on your computer
Personally, the best option for you if you were to mine and try not to get kicked is using the Run In the Window Option. You can set it to the right or left side of your screen. whichever you prefer while on the left side you can do whatever you want whether its work, writing, watching youtube, etc.
Photos 1 and 2 below will show you how to change this setting. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU DO THIS CLOSING MONOLITH FIRST. OTHERWISE THE APP CRASHES
Photo 3 below shows a borderless window example. You can see its smack in the middle, but the only reason I use this is because when I use the furnace, the close button on the furnace is right next to the close button for the entire game and I accidentally clicked that and lost a lot of material. Which is why mining with a "Run in the window" option doesn't matter cause if you accidentally close out the game, you dont lose your material that you already collected in the mines.
If an admin comes and does a mic check to see if you are here, you will be able to see not only him/her, but that he teleported to you and is waiting for a reply. To which you are clearly there, aware and can reply back before he or she kicks you from the game.
Hope this helps some people who want to mine, but also do other things as well. It sure has helped me
