after reading a recent report (https://monolithservers.com/forums/threads/player-report.38404/post-227549) and being confused about how this rule is presented, i was thinking that this rule can be clarified in a map of sort (in the rule page) or made even more clear for players to understand.

The rule is the Public mugging rule, This is a big issue as the rule is mostly "Down to staff decision" which it shouldn't it gives player a false sense of the rules. Like in the report i mentioned above he was mugged infront of the Oceanview building and Behind PD and yet it still was considered "Not public" and in the past it was considered public. Another big one is Infront of hardware store, if you move a little bit left of the door if leaving hardware store its considered "Not public" which also shouldnt make sense. The last one I have is Infront of powerplant, as it isnt used anymore people and staff are saying its now considered "not public". When I opened a report for a public mugging infront i was told "As the powerplant isnt used anymore its now not public" and the report was closed.

I think just some clarification would be nice so it isnt confusing for muggers and people getting mugged

Fun fact, a year ago I was punished for mugging someone in that exact area because its too open and close to PD. This server needs a mugging map because staff could never decide what's what. I remember very clearly me mugging an old member named weedle in that lobby right next to contraband. We were dragged into the air by a staff and told to give his items back.

Edit : I actually somehow still have the video https://streamable.com/j3a41f

Yeah it does need clarification, about a week ago i had a staff member tell me now some staff are going off you cant mug on major roads even though this isnt apart of the official rule.

its more for the fact that staff members cant decide whats public or not and gets confusing for players and they get warnings for just trying to mug people

Why do you guys go off from this? You guys should just go off, if there was a crowd or visible traffic. Its roleplay, people get robbed in "major roads" if there is little or no traffic. I mean that just makes sense for when a criminal wants to mug and where else would a criminal find a victim. Remember when people mug behind casino even though it was a major parking lot. Everyone parks there but the crowd is always inside. And it will be only one guy outside alone. And this is another example:
there are spots in l2 that are major roads and are 100% secluded
^ Because little to zero traffic and people.
Also curious ,how is supermarket prem box not a place to mug. The tow truck npc isn't even facing at the supermarket, its such a stretch. I thought the whole idea you guys added the rule is people wouldn't mug NEAR the npcs. Then this would go for the docks, if you just mug people before the docks and just the ramp you should be fine. Not because the NPC is all the way down the docks he can see counts. To better understand, people mug at the intersections at suburbs and ronnies but we don't count the bitetruck npcs to be involved.
