Illegal Contraband Taxes?

I've just recently tried to sell my cocaine, and the mayor wouldn't budge on putting taxes to 0. While I was waiting, I realized something. The government is taxing us on illegal and drugs, so does that mean it's legal? They're taxes on us must mean they know about it, which means it's legal? I just think that no drug dealer would ever tell a client "Oh, well there's a 10% tax that the mayor has just recently made take effect, so I'm going to be charging you 10% on that." I just find it very strange.

Yah this is actually really annoying that you need 0% tax to sell drugs for a good price. It's like the mayor is has 2 jobs. 1 is maintaining the city and the 2nd one is running a secret drug cartel.

It makes sense in that way but we should implement a system where the president gives money every 15 mins like 2k or so to make up for removing tax's from the drug dealer ?

You sell your drugs to Chester, the corner buyer. Chester has to get to his supplier to sell this hot brick of coke. Gas tax is up. They've gotta cover their costs. So just imagine that your NPC buyer is trying to accomodate for, eh, let's call it inflation. Taxes low, your druggies have more money to spend right? Taxes high everyone's uptight. It isn't a gov't tax, it's your buyer accomodating for the local economy.

As much as I want to have some super-duper RP reason for stuff, I just watched a mayor threaten to throw a cop off of a balcony not to long ago. Take the whole corrupt-AF discussion as you will.

+support I understand it’s a game and the mayor needs to make money but from my knowledge drug dealers in real life don’t turn themselves in to pay part of what they get from selling just to pay the people that are trying to arrest him. It makes seriously 0 sense

Less money being made = Higher prices for everything
