Your Character Name: Kyle Lasky

Ban Length: 4 Days & 4 Hours
Banning Staff Member (@AdminName to mention the staff member): @Spartan ◢ ◤

Ban Reason:
Tabbed out for a few minutes to speak to an admin about some unrelated stuff, Left +attack on by genuine accident. Tab back in and get a ban over four times the amount people who do it on purpose with previous bans get.

I was only gone for two minutes, Have never been banned previously and have the moderator on steam who banned me, meaning he could easily have messaged me to check if I was AFK or not.

Time of Occurrence: 18:00
Relevant Evidence: Not Applicable

Personally i feel like this is very unreasonable, for a genuine mistake. I see people get kicked and given a warning for this i feel like 4 days is taking the situation way out of proportion.

I don't see why The ban would be for 4 days and that after a higher rank by @WhiteWolf (RIP) said that it was an accident. I don't see why the ban was not lifted. The player in question (from what I've seen) is that of a 99% model player with minor slip ups. I would like to see the banning admins view upon this.

I don't want to make accusations but this seems very much so more of a personal issue with me than him following his Moderation duties.

As he was told via steam by myself, and on discord voice by @WhiteWolf (a High Ranking staff member) that this was a genuine mistake and not the actions of a rule breaker, but still decided to maintain the ban.

I was present during this ban. He gave you absolutely every chance he could to get back to the computer. You're lucky @Perry didn't find you first, because you wouldn't have even gotten that chance. I was speaking loudly over the mic to get your attention, and if you were just in the Steam overlay you definitely would have heard it.

I do agree the ban time is excessive however. I'll get Spartan on the thread for you.

He must be reachable. We sat with him on a roof for 1-2 minutes talking and waiting for him to come back. He was not reachable.
We were talking for around 10 minutes about a situation, he said he was muting his sounds in-game.

I was not away from the computer, I had tabbed out to use another application and genuinely forgot I was mining.
and @Perry is a reasonable enough person to understand that it was a genuine mistake and would unban me, speaking loudly over the mic would not help as I was tabbed out and not in the overlay.

I don't have a problem with the ban being placed, as it seemed justified when @Spartan ◢ ◤ originally placed the ban.
I have a problem that he gave me a ban well over 4x the length of a ban any other player would get, and the fact that after given enough reason to believe that it was a genuine accident decided to keep the ban active.

Those are not the decisions of an unbiased party, but those of someone with a personal grudge finding an exhaust.

@Spartan ◢ ◤ If you can, can you oversee this situation? I agree to some extent that the person needs a ban, however a 4 day long ban is excessive. @Perry often gives a 1 day ban, if this is the first time offense. Has there been multiple times where this gentleman used +attack and was not present, then you should consider a longer ban indeed.

Ban Appeal: Accepted

Ban reduced to 1 day, apologies haven't banned people before for afk mining so maybe was a bit harsh.
