Law Enforcement On Monotlith RP

Not even the 2nd or 3rd or any rank spawn with the weakest pistol with ammo on this server.
This server is more dangerous than a Warzone in real life, Enemies have better weapons AND can shoot first.
Every Officer should AT LEAST spawn with the weakest pistol with ammo, you guys get on me for aggressively cuffing/detaining people, wondering why, Admins need to go UNDERCOVER, WITH NO ONE KNOWING WHO THEY ARE, and pose as a noob officer, because if players know an admin is a cop. behavior changes, With me as a cop, players will try to bait me into a ban purposely, these players are going to be a problem to monolith. I am not perfect, and i have fucked up a few times, but when i get serious as an officer, 90% of the time, my goal is to avoid my own death, help to the same to fellow officers/innocent civs
Cops at rank 2 + need to spawn with a pistol with ammo of some sort.
I'm getting looked down apon/demoted 50% of the time, due to the fact that i dont use my own money to buy a gun that i may never have a chance to use + when i die pay that death cash, respawn again, as i walk back to the PD, encounter another situation, and get killed again, being a cop here is difficult as hell, when you try to see this server as a place that Enforces US Federal Law. I expect a profit from my Police Paycheck, I don't expect to be forced to spend my own money like mad under threat of demoted, THe Police system needs to be Fixed. I still dont understand if this server is Serious City RP, Or a 3/4 Serious City RP, or a Semi Serious RP, or what ever else, It should not be listed under Dark RP, Monolith RP needs it's own title, because Monolith has been around for so long, and it so Good, Highly Recommend making a change in many places. I may not make 100% sense, but work with me here.

PS: I ping is almost 300MS because Im not living in USA. and my FPS is about 10~20FPS.

so, level up and be a ranger. Shotgun works well. When you engage hostiles inside building.

While I agree that it's pretty bad that officers spend more time actively fighting the looming threat of death rather than doing actual police work, and ignoring the fact that officers irl have access to longarms regardless of rank (obviously once you get past your training faze), I feel like a "rework" isn't really necessary. IMO just make all pistols better, with longarms penetrating armour more effectively. This way, your average officer won't be cannonfodder, and also higher ranking officers don't have to carry a rifle at all times which I've always hated the look of unless some situation warrants it.
People baiting the police is probably the most realistic part of the whole thing, but if they're metagaming to get the edge on you then I personally think some form of action should be taken against them for that, but it's still pretty whatever. Just stick nearby to the PD and secure the permimeter if you're tired of dying, that's generally what I do as PD anyway. Let the guys with longarms get shot first.

I'm not going to waste my own money on weapons that i more than likely will die before being able to use/ and charged a medical bill, i want to save the money i make as a cop, food costs enough alone. Either 1. Chief should not be allowed to demote anyone for not buying a weapon. Or 2. Every cop should spawn with at least the weakest pistol.

TBF, some departments in real life require you to buy your own service weapon. Realistically, if you refused to buy a weapon when the department wouldn't buy one for you, they would probably fire you there too. Maybe just make the worst pistol free, so that way people who want to buy a different one don't have to clutter their hotbar with an extra pistol.

If you were referring to a recent occurrence of you being demoted (pretty sure I was the one who demoted you), you were demoted for constantly spamming the police radio with OOC complaints, about how the server was so horrible because you are "forced" to spend your own money on weapons. Either find someone and get them to play as mayor, or spend $300 on a pistol, it's that simple. I am sure you can find an officer to spare you $300 - $1,000 if you ask politely.

This is the normal cop main mentality. I want free things I should not have any risk in playing cop I should just be rewarded for existing.

Lets take a look at what cops get compared to citizens.
Cops pros:

• Unlimited extremely cheap guns
• Guns that do not drop, meaning if they die in combat they do not reward the killing player because they can not gain loot.
• Free repairs when you can respawn your cop car
• Free medkits every life with very very cheap refills
• Medkits do not drop and can not be looted
• Has the a mayor to literally generate cash for you making your already very cheap guns completely free.
• Has the ability to benefit from tax money
• Has the ability to "break NLR" and have two lives in raids. (lets not pretend that coming back to life and asking for on going situations adds and meaningful or productive RP. its just allowed NLR breaking and thats ok)
• Rarely get punished for mistakes or RDM. (this is highly up to debate)
• Can loot pistols/meds/Kevlar
• Has passive salary

Cop cons:

• Cant loot class 3s
• Cant crime RP
• Forced to follow the orders of your higher ups
• Cant buy property

Playing a cop you are constantly being rewarded for just playing the game and are using guns that are dirt cheap and took no effort (no mining / crafting to make). This "down side" of being in gun fights with civs goes both ways but arguably worse for civs as civ players put ALOT more at risk when they "fragrp" (stupid term btw). Lets compare pros of being a civ now

Civ pros:

• Can loot anything
• Can buy property
• Can participate in crime rp
• No leaders freedom to do what ever you want(with in server rules)
• Many play styles (passive/fragrp)

Civ cons:

• Civs will never directly benefit from taxes. Taxes will always be a hinderance on civs in any context.
• Has to buy their own cars
• Has to pay for repairs
• Has to use firearms that were crafted. This means the firearms are MUCH MUCH more expensive and make a lot of time to make.
• Most good firearms cost a lot of money or take a lot of time to craft
• Lots of making drugs or farming just to have money for guns / meds / cars
• Very time consuming to make good profit
• Buying guns can go south and requires good RP. (You can get mugged / ripped off)
• Meds are pricey and add up in cost quickly
• Drops everything on death can even have things deleted by cops. (Guns that cost thousands of dollars and lots of hours to craft gone in a single click)
• High risk frag RP
• No reward for killing cops(maybe get a kev or something minor)

Try to look at your situation from a civ point of view. You are saying that cops should get a already cheap gun for free. Keep in kind the cheap is pistol is $300. Meanwhile civ players constantly run around with 30k guns with money they grinded for just for the change they could lose it to come noob cop with a free baby pistol.

I guess what I am getting at is if you are out of money. Play civ and grind for cash. Get a taste of what is it is like and maybe you will realize how nice it is to have the ability to buy cheap freely generated guns when ever you want, just put maybe a little effort in at all.

Its not only about the money, its the amount of time wasted with it mainly. Its difficult to RP a LOT, so sometimes it is more fun to just troll. The Amount of time wasted + the money wasted, the combination of the 2 is what is bullshit. There should be a chop shop for criminals that steal a car, so they can chop shop it for 3k or something. While giving the police a buff of their own. Civilians that have/are doing crimes should fear approaching a police situation and randomly getting involved. Once multiple people approach my police situation, all talking on mic, i feel threatened and i feel the need to detain players for my safety and theirs, It always almost instantly leads to someone shooting me, and even if i don't, i get shot anyway, its rediculous at times. Its like players look for the smallest reason to shoot you, and they also try to make you break the rules so they can report you on the forums. a Head ACHE! lol

Just so you are aware, players can only kill you if their friend is being arrested. Detainment is not a Valid RP Reason to kill an LEO.

i almost agree to this. For a long time i have been saying lets pretty much do away with rifles or at least give the pd a fully automatic ar-15 considering its a pea shooter anyways. You can find a lot of different guns on the streets in the US but chances are they aren't automatic. I think pistols should be buffed and rifles should be harder to come by. Cops are always at a disadvantage because they are restrained by rules and staff nowadays don't seem to wanna do much about the major cop baiting that take place. perhaps they're scared of losing the few players the server get on the regular. but that's another story.
