Section 1 : The Basics
This section will cover the very basics of the server and some of the mechanics.
1. MonoPhone
Pressing T will bring up your monophone, this is where you can do things like call 911, view the city laws, get a hold of other players and navigate your way around the city with the map.
Below is a list of the main apps and what they do
1. Maps : this will show your location and all of the main points of the map.
2. MonoPages : This will allow you to sell things and look at listings made by other players.
3. ??? : This will be your black market contracts, separate guide on that if needed.
4. Properties : This app will allow you to walk up to a property and rent it.
5. Banking : This will allow you to see how much money is in your bank and send money to other players.
6. MonoMessages / Phone : Allows you to message and Phone allows you to call
7. Contacts : Lists your saved contacts
8: City : Here you can pay your tickets, view the election and taxes as well.
2. Important Locations
The important locations are marked on the Maps section of your MonoPhone
Some of the most important include
1. Hardware Store : This is where you will buy all of your tools / equipment.
2. Mechanic : This is where you will get your car repaired.
3. Gun Store : Here you can buy certain guns and ammo.
4. Bank : This is where you will access your bank storage.
5. City Hall : This is where you will vote for mayor and access your licenses via license clerk NPC. (You will also pay your tickets here as well)
3. Inventory System
Your inventory is very important, this is where all of your items will end up before you put them in the bank storage. You can also access things like quests, settings and daily rewards here! Below is a legend of all of the things you can access.
4. Bank System
This symbol represents the bank on the map
The bank is very useful to any player, new or old. To access your bank inventory walk up to the Bank & Storage Teller NPC and you can access your organization bank, personal bank, mono market and your returns and collections. The bank also has a good use for getting money! For this I recommend going to the Bank Robbing guide.
Congratulations! Now that you have a basic understanding of how the gamemode works, we can get onto the good stuff!
Section 2 : Quests
Quests are the best way to get started, you can access the Quests in your inventory (Refer to the picture in The Basics to see what each tab does). That is all for Quests, for the tutorial it will tell you in each quest in detail how to complete it!
Section 3 : Getting a job and vehicle
Your First Job
There are a couple of jobs you can start up upon loading into the server. Your very first ones you have access to are Medic Intern, Vehicle Mechanic and Public Works. To know where to find these jobs and what they do refer to the Jobs app on your MonoPhone. Once you get the job you will get a small cutscene that explains how the job works. This app will also show level requirements for further jobs. (Note : Police Jobs are not actually a Level 1 job and this will be changed in the future).
Vehicles
Some jobs come with vehicles but of course you will want your own for when you are doing other things. First off we will make our way over to City Hall, this will look like this on the map:
(Continued on next page)
Once you have made your way over to this area, approach the License Clerk NPC and take your License Test. Once you have completed this refer to the Hit The Road Quest and it will guide you further on how to obtain your very own vehicle!
Section 4 : What skills can you start at level 1?
There are a few skills you can start at Level 1. The most basic you will want to start at the beginning are Fishing, Mining, Cooking, Wood Cutting and Farming! These all have separate guides so this will not go to in depth when it comes down to actually doing these.
This guide will teach you everything you can do as a new player within Monolith.
