"Selling toy guns" + Its an rp server using the defence of they arent in the game so ik its illegal is dumb af
If you just say "Selling Toy Gun's" That's different due to the fact that your not specifying on what your selling, I also get your point of the fact that many people just say "They aren't in the game so obviously it's something illegal" not much rp around it but since no Nerf guns exist in Monolith they can say that it's justified and it must be something illegal.

Me saying "selling toy guns" isnt enough reason to get 5 years in jail. Thats all the police had. Its an rp server saying toy guns arent in the game so they dont exist is so dumb on so many lvls.

Going just off of "Selling Toy Guns" isn't enough to do that, You must have done something else with that to get that time. As Stewart said you could be warranted and talked to or maybe a detective could see what your doing, but Just saying that is not enough.

Yeah ik. It wasnt a valid arrest but it is what happened. I get on server. I make the ad. I get warranted. I call police asking why. They take me to PD. I ask what law i broke. They say selling toy firearms which is illegal. I spoke to staff. They say since toy weapons aren't real i can be arrested

If you go ahead and instead of making advertisements, you can make a player-owned gun shop. This way you can market your guns (make sure you have a license) and not get pd down your throat 24/7.

PD and criminals get treated the same.

PD/criminals dont get treated the same. Pd get treated way more leniently, Idg why u are still acting as if my arrest was valid. It clearly wasnt. I had nothing on me/no one reported buying anything. Me making the ad was enough for a search/investigation not an arrest.

Your arrest was not valid. They needed evidence to back up their warrant after they found you which they did not have

Context is the biggest factor that we take into consideration. There are other factors that we look at (depending on the admin) such as experience, background, and knowledge about a situation. We also consider the attitude of the individual, which this goes for all individuals involved. We try out best to provide the best possible outcome while still providing a balanced judicial (admin sit) outcome in order for one to learn from their actions, not necessarily just punished.

For situations that feel unfairly handled by a staff member, is the reason why we have the forums for; in order to make reports on unjust outcomes that you felt was unfair from a staff member or in order to have a 2nd opinion on said situation. @Tye

From all my time playing and several situations, i also feel that cops generally are way more less likely to receive punishments for rulebreaks than criminals. example, when there are false codereds, they just end up with a verbal by the majority of admins even when their rulebreak messed up your whole roleplay. And many times it is the same cops that do these same things, that is, they have history and experience, which leads us to believe that history is not rly something that is considered by the admins in these situations, specially the ones who aways play cops.

Many times too, admins just tell you to speak with the chief that 90% times will ignore you or will not consider your version of the history. When you open a report ticket in-game this tend to be even worse, not all admins will want to take your ticket.

If you really want a cop to be punished he needs to have done something really serious and you need to have recorded the whole situation, otherwise don't even worth opening a report. And do it on the forums, never in-game.

To clarify, a breach of policy is a matter for the chief.

A rulebreak is for admins.

Too long jail time, false warrants etc are all policy problems to be dealt with by the chief.

If a RANDOM arrest occurs it is a rulebreak.

Rulebreaks on PD should really be being met with week long blacklists going forward but this is new and not fully implemented.

The bias you guys identify is most likely the result of the wealth of reports made by people who haven't experienced a rulebreak, but didn't like the way RP went with a cop and want their items back. The fewer of those reports we get, the less vast the gap will be in punishments I think.

Just to further reiterate one of Stewart's points, the reason you may feel there's a bias against PD is because you may have faced a breaking of policy, not of rules. The average staff member can mostly only do something if a cop actually breaks a rule, but there's still a level between rule break and proper PD play. That area does need to be either handled by the active chief or a member of police supervision. You are always free to talk to a supervisor about any situation even if another staff already looked at it from a rules perspective and said it was all good.
