Your Steam Name: Heinrich

Your Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:26708350

Your Character Name (If Applicable): Devin Clark

Admin being reported: STEAM_0:1:26456186 | Larry Gibbons (I couldn't find his forum name).

Reason for Report: He suspended someone for 3 days for FailRP and VDM when it should have been a verbal warning. Staff guide clearly shows what punishments you're supposed to be handing out per violation. Since this was his first offense on both counts, why exactly was he given a 3 day suspension from the server? It seems like people are too cool to follow the guide on here and make excuses when they're confronted by other fellow staff members when they do something wrong. Larry told me that Whitewolf said it was okay to ban people for that long when that doesn't even make any sense because we have a staff guide that explains how you're supposed to punish players, and Whitewolf wouldn't say that because that totally goes against what is on the staff guide. When you get a Moderator position on here, you're required to read the guide and understand what your job pretty much entails on here and how you're supposed to deal with certain situations. Larry is going off of what other people say when that shouldn't ever be the case for anybody. Unless Whitewolf or someone else changed something in the staff guide, I don't understand why you're banning people for that long for a first offense. I also don't understand why you're asking other staff how long you're supposed to ban people for when everything you need to know is right on the guide.

Time of Occurrence: 11:20 PM GMT-5 (EST)

Hey, I'm not involved in this situation at all but this has been brought up before in one of our staff meetings. Essentially, those guidelines were given to staff members when the server had a low population and we were trying to reserve our player base as much as possible. It's completely different now and we were told to hand out harder punishments because of the increased amount of players on our servers. However, it's entirely our fault for not updating or removing that specific staff guide.

If somebody does something wrong, but it wasn't intentional, we can correct that, and let them off with a warning. We have to be willing to be giving people chances here. A lot of times I try to fix the issue at hand rather than laying down the ban hammer on someone. Some staff on here just want to jump the gun and ban people from the server. If someone comes on here intentionally causing problems for other people, then you can honestly just ban them without question, but if someone comes on here and makes a mistake, I would rather try and correct the issue at hand, and give the person a chance.

I'm very aware of that, I do the exact same as you do, give the player a chance unless it was intentional or a serious rule break, but that wasn't my original point to get across. You can't blame Larry for what he has been told since it's partially correct. That staff guide is outdated and you should direct your annoyance towards the user in charge of the staff guide.

This is the second occasion where you have reported a staff member with literally next to no evidence on the matter. It seems you have some kind of grudge to get people demoted at this point and the only person who is looking like a fool is yourself.

I'd strongly suggest you watch yourself.

Regardless of what happened in this situation, it feels like you are simply just watching the staff for banning people having no insight into the situation. The staff guideline is their as a recommendation as I've stated upon numerous occasions. The staff guideline was there; like @Moon stated, to reserve the playerbase as we had such a low player-base (~10 people daily) which then we were careful about banning players. I've stated this in the last two staff meetings. I'm not going to question @Larry Gibbons on the ban, he is a staff member and I trust his reasonings for his ban were correct.
The staff complaint will be denied.
