I don't really post much on the forums, but I felt obligated to make this post.

I've seen a lot of reports and complaints about server admins recently. Like right now there's 3 on Arroyo. I've been playing a lot recently due to being home sick with Covid, and I've witnessed some of the best staffing in my entire 15 years of playing Garry's Mod. Arroyo single handedly moderated the server a couple days ago during PRIME hours and was constantly taking sits and helping people. The guy was working just as hard as my staff at my busy restaurant do IRL. I was impressed. I don't know how staff are compensated, and I keep hearing people talk about "pay" but I assume it's in-game money. To my knowledge, no staff are getting paid like an actual job to moderate the server. They are taking time out of their lives to keep rule breakers away for YOUR enjoyment. Please be patient with staff and show some respect and appreciation.

I've personally had some great and positive experiences interacting with Ber, Arroyo, Gideon, Kev, Afash, Skojen, and Backflare. I'm sure all the other staff are great, but these are just the ones I've had server help with. I've had a great time RPing with many of the others.

I couldn't find a place where we could write positive reviews on staff, but only complaints. I think it's only fair that someone can post something positive about them to let the directors and management know that we appreciate them.

He only started doing this after the fact he had 3+ staff reports on him. If he was handling sits like this before he had staff reports on him and not many eyes on him then sure you could compliment him about it but obviously he only did this to look like he cared for once.

I remember complaining about arroyo in general chat on the mono discord then for the next 1-2 days I saw him get on for sits then all of the sudden that just stopped because he realized nothing was gonna happen lol strange how after staff reports put pressure on him he just comes back taking sits again.

There is largely spread misconception, mainly said by staffs themselves, that all staffs are "volunteers" "we are not being actually paid" "We are wasting our time for you".
Well, that ain't actually true. Every staff disregard their rank, is getting paid for their services in a way or other. There are no real volunteers among them.

im patient enough but when a sit i make is ignored or takes hours to be looked at even when theres a lot of staff that becomes a joke. true staff volunteer for the position but you cant exactly blame us for being annoyed at people who apply to do something and dont. i dont blame staff for being sick of taking sits because we players get sick of the server too when it gets too boring but i think a staff member that cant be arsed to get on shouldnt hoard their role and just resign.

Exactly. Average sit times are hours and people on the server know it. The staff themselves know, but they hide under the guise of "being volunteers, feel pity for us"

Why do people always complain in OOC instead of just making a report and having the admins deal with it??? After a few hours, its likely the person will go offline and you are told they can't do anything because they aren't online, but you can post it on the forums. Yay! Look at the forum queue, there are still reports from DECEMBER 2021, we are halfway through January 2022. I don't think they understand it piles up when they refuse to do the role THEY applied for.

That brings another point that you mentioned very well. They CHOSE to become a staff, so they knew they were signing up to deal with reports. It's like signing up to be a janitor and not cleaning the bathroom because it's gross.... that was the job you signed up for. The fact that people say if you don't like the staff why don't you apply is such a big cop-out and excuse that they don't even realize what they are missing. You can't hide all criticisms of staff with that comment.

About respect, when staff is very disrespectful including yelling, giving false punishments, making up rules, closing reports without saying anything, etc, and you make a report that means nothing because when an organization investigates itself of course it's going to say it did nothing wrong, what do you expect? People are patient, but when you see like 5 staff on all on National Guard or something and theres a bunch of RDM or you're sitting in a cell for a while WITHOUT being booked, the game is kinda ruined. You leave, you get banned, you make a report, they do nothing. What do you expect? If you aren't willing to take reports in a timely manner, you shouldn't be staff.

Especially when there was staff actively being corrupt in the PD a few days ago and nothing was done about it. A Staff report goes nowhere.


Finally, the fact the person who calls everything minge had to "find a place to compliment staff" is hilarious and sad at the same time.

If you have evidence of staff breaking rules/abusing their powers please make a staff report with that evidence. While you may not directly see the effects of a staff report unless it is severe enough to warrant a demotion you can be sure that the CM's don't just ignore staff reports, If a staff member is breaking rules or abusing and you don't make a staff report or contact a SA+ on discord about it with any available evidence it would only allow the staff to continue on with the breaking of rules/abuse of power.

Agreed. This won't actually solve the issue at hand though, resigning would merely show formality.
