"Steam auth ticket has been canceled"

I keep getting disconnected with this error message:
Steam auth ticket has been canceled
Does anyone know how to fix this as I've : factory reset my router, reinstalled gmod, verified game cache.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.

This happens whenever your steam account decides to log off steam (I think!). I personally think it has something to do with checking if your steam account is in possession of the game or if you are the rightfull player using the SteamID for Garrys Mod, but I'm not sure! Just assumptions.

Here are ways to quickly fix it:
Open up steam and go onto any page to 'wake it up'.
Using invisible mode instead of offline.

Also might help just to restart steam

That happens once in a while. Try running steam as an administrator. After I did that it hasn’t happened once.
This could also be because of leaving the game open

Both haven't worked unfortunately, it seems to affect all games now which is peculiar.

Try verifying integrity of game cache located in properties after right clicking on a game.

Think I found the fix and it was because I was logged onto steam on another PC whilst playing. Hence the authentication error!
If anyone else has this problem feel free to DM me as I've a list of all things to try if that is not the case.

This can also happen if authenticating takes too long.
