Where do your usernames come from?

A lot of people have unique usernames, that aren't named after anything in particular, such as 'PMX' and 'tesk'. My username is just my IRL surname, so I'm curious as to where you guys got your usernames from and why you chose them?

i use 2 names around the internet,

gregg is a nickname someone gave me years ago(though it was spelt greggorio), pretty much went by it irl for a while so it stuck with me.

deku is a character from my hero academia who i relate to, so i use deku as a name some places

admins kept tping to the wrong person and asked me to change my steam name to something more unique and i did " My Bloodline Ended In a Cumsock"

My named derived from my previous (Quebec - Shimax) and I got fed up of being asked if I was from Quebec, and also being told I'm "copying Sovietwomble" (neither of which are why I had Quebec in my name, the reason of which is more personal) so I thought one day "What sounds similar to Quebec?".
In a maths lesson I found my answer. Cubic
Despite this, @Mr.Alex still calls me Quebec

The cubed was something I added just for the hell of it, really.

I was playing CSGO one day and I wanted to change my name to something random, so I had my Green Gatorade Water Bottle to the left of me, so I changed it to that. Then when I went back on Monolith, I didn't want to change my name because then it would be reset on Gametracker and I already had the name for a decent amount of time on the server, so it just stuck ever since.

In High School shop class, I was going to have my first dip of Grizzly straight long cut. I went to take a pinch and the shot teacher started opening the door so I took the entire contents of the tin and shoved it in my mouth. He came up to me, put his hand out and I knew I was busted....so I gutted it whole. After throwing up for a solid 10 minutes, the shop teacher told me it was punishment enough. My friends started calling me mudjug because of it and the rest was history.

So, I wanted to create a new nickname for myself on the internet, I liked a name of Jewish origin called "Joquebede" but it was a very long name and and not easy to be pronounced, also it is a designated name for female. I always liked the name "Juca", for its easy pronunciation and sound, even though it is totally distant from my irl name. I first wanted to create a new nickname called "Juca", but it would be very generic and several people already use it, so I added "Mais", which means in Portuguese "More" or "Plus", i liked the final result and and sound of the name and thats it

Brents is a nickname i was given when i was out and about with street racers when i was a kid.

Iv always been known as Brents but my real name is Brenton.

So I've had my username for nearly 12 years. My original Xbox GT was COD4ever (beyond cringe now that I look back on it). Anyways I was thinking of a new GT and my dad being corny as anything suggested "Asian dis Kool" sounding similar to "Isn't this cool." My 6th grade self at the time didnt question it and changed it. 12 years later this username has stuck with me on my YouTube channel, Xbox and Steam username. At this point its never going to change because

1. The history of how it got to that point is pretty funny and cringe to me
2. Reminds me that my dad basically influenced my username on many things for the past 12 years. (thanks dad)
3. It would be weird as hell to have a different username (My discord name "The Negotiator" is the exception since i played the GOT mobile game and that stuck for 3 years now)

This is an interesting one...

A few years back I had my first game of airsoft. I really enjoyed it but I didn’t know anyone at the field. I ended up buying an electric M4 rifle with a brand name “Lancer Tactical” So I went back and the game was domination, so when I was going to capture a point, I saw my teammate and he said “Hey Lancer, Lancer go over and cover that wall” I did because he was a more experienced player. As my other teammates heard he call me that, they kinda adopted it so everyone was calling me Lancer. I came back, and the nickname stuck, and I liked it, it had a nice ring. It started as my discord name, then I made it my name on everything (I made this account before I got the nickname)

Back in the Black Ops 2 days my friends and I found a weird glitch on the handrails, if you prone’d next to a handrail and knifed it, and got on top of it you would slide on it, then we made a clan called the “Slipperybears” and after that I just made it my username, good ol BO2
