No one's trying to discredit you here, and please, don't start insulting. We're trying to hold a constructive conversation and I thought it was going well.

You're misinformed related to our anti cheat protection. VERY misinformed. I've said this time and time again that we don't discuss the intricacies of our anti-cheat. This won't change, for obvious reasons. I can't believe this has to be said 500 times.
I am not misinformed lol. I know from experience.

And yes, I resorted to breaking out the mean words because I guess it takes that to get you to stop resulting to petty attacks about working on another community, as if that should be a "get out of argument" free card.

I just want to point out the flaws I experienced and hope it gets addressed. But since the anticheat solutions problem is just another rabbit hole I guess it'll never be addressed, shame cause it's true that you guys have nothing against hackers and I am certain that your players wish that it wasn't a hacking spree with the cheapest and free .dll hacks on the market.

Community Manager to Community Manager - I know from my experience that I've not always handled these situations in the best way, but with experience, I've come to learn that resorting to breaking out the mean words just isn't a good way to handle it.

Stop talking about AC. It's pointless to discuss that further. All I will say is that it's a continuous effort to improve our anti cheat solution.

My posts have been edited by a moderator?!
Also like half the people in this thread have already been suspended - sure they may have said something but I bet the forum moderators are extremely vigilant when someone that responded to this thread makes one very tinyyyyy slip up- we can already see this with me as I have gotten infraction points
Look, im not part of the forum moderation team, its a bit too strict at times for my liking, but this is not one of those cases. What parker did was no "tiny slip up". And parker knows it. If they were looking for tiny slip ups, there would be a lot more suspensions.

@Tj "Ground up, coded from scratch, we have created a uniquely interactive and extensive City RP experience in Garrys Mod. Our vision is about replacing the status quo of outdated, messy and stale RP game modes with a game experience that is both comprehensive and coherent, dynamic and purposeful, and with attributes of quality and genuine craftsmanship to each of its features." Based from this which is what you see when you go to monolithservers.com i thought that monolith rp was coded from scratch? Maybe i just misinterpreted it, but i always thought that monolith was coded from scratch.

It is coded from scratch.

Doesn't mean we can't use other publicly available addons to add more fun content. We tend to optimize and change up these addons when they don't suit our needs.

I've been staffing on Monolith for over 6 months and have been playing on the server for a little over 3 years. Having been a member of the community for a while there are obviously some points addressed here that are valid and things need to change. Reading some of these posts has troubled me because in my whole time staffing I have not bumped into any trouble with the names people are mentioning, probably just me, but I'm being honest. I don't think I have ever joined a staff voice channel and left regretting that I joined it, it's always a good time / is productive. A lot of these posts are making some people on the team seem like disgusting people, and I can not agree with that. Sure, there have been times where someone may have acted out of line and shouldn't get away with it. Change can be made, not instant change, but it will be made slowly.

Conclusion: Personally, "brainwashed" or "pieces on a chessboard" isn't how I'd describe my time here. All the time I have devoted here has been because this is something I find fun, a nice distraction from the world around us, and balancing my life with Monolith on the side isn't hard, stop making it sound like its a living hell.

I am not going to sit here and say I have done everything perfectly in my time staffing, everyone has bad days, makes mistakes etc. I am trying to change and improve on where I can do better.

Like I've said, humans improve off failure and mistakes - this is a learning process for some, so the feedback is appreciated.

I wish I could go into more detail, but it is getting late for me. Hope I was able to touch up on some of the points made in this thread. If you would like to speak to me or have any questions, my discord is here - Balldrip#0984. Monolith related or not, I am here for a chat :)
Hey, @Balldrip want to talk about the time where you joined a VC with Joey, parker, ja, me, you, and maj after maj.kats demotion and were completely going against everything you said here? I mean we could go into detail about what you said about several staff members? YOU TARGETED ME ON THE SEVER, you went through my logs but of course, you don't get punished for that. Quit acting innocent, you made mistakes too. You trashed staff, said that the situation with Maj was bullshit and you were going to resign but as soon as you saw some SA spots open up you went for them. Backstabbing the people who got you there in the first place. You know the truth of what happened that night and you sit here and say all this.

Also why the fuck was parkerx suspended for speaking his mind? Here we go again monolith censorship at its finest.

Nobody listens to the players, you all run around with ego's bigger than your heads. Especially you balldrip. I respected you, but now I see your other side.

GO ahead edit my thread I'm sure it will happen, remove where I speak the truth. I don't care anymore I tried over and over.

Parkerx advertised another community in this thread... If he was being censored he would of had all his posts removed from here instead of simply being forum banned for breaking a forum rule.

You should probably take this to a DM with him. This is not the place for you to discuss this matter.

To be fair, which is something that has not been mentioned here... I personally consider staff reports useless and a waste of time. Another player who reads this comment will know why, as it has been said a long time during this post, unprofessionalism from some staff members is pretty frequent and it seems to my eyes that nobody gets punished except whoever exposes the problem.

I need more info than just "this unnamed person will know why" because "it's a waste of time" - you're not providing anything for us to roll with.

For what might be approaching the third time: He broke a rule on the forum. A rule that has been in place before there was public registration on the forums.
If someone breaks a rule, they are punished. That is not censorship, that is rule enforcement. You may not agree with the rule and that's fine, but it is a rule nonetheless.

I won't mention any staff names. There's no such of an "unnamed person", I'm probably talking in the name of the vast majority of the players who have made a staff report with fair reasons and arguments.

We feel that it is useless because over the years it has seemed that nobody is taking decisions regarding some staff's behavior. That's what I asked Melody before if the changes were going to be shown to the community, in my opinion, that is needed in order to be transparent: this way we can know what staff must and must not do so we can stop this secrecy that has been pointed out along all of this thread.

I respect you, but you have violated the forum rules as well calling credence suggestion "gay". A simple mistake but a rule break, but were you punished.. nope? Double standard, yes.

Hi Zynthax,

I can understand and respect your frustration on this particular topic, while it is not a perfect system, nor will it ever be a perfect system, the Management team tries their hardest to make sure that there is no misconduct by the staff on the server. There are a number of reports that provided sufficient evidence for a staff member to be either talked to, or have action taken against them. Unfortunately, there are many staff reports that exist out of spite, now not all of them fall under this category, I believe it is important to mention that a number of reports are made when passions are high. The staff report process is an integral part of making sure that our staff members are held responsible with the power that is entrusted to them, it should never feel like a "useless" section of our forums. If you have any questions or comments that you would like to share with me privately, please message me on Discord. I am always more than willing to hear you out on this matter, or any other matter.

Sure, I guess I will go ahead. I'll keep it short and sweet, don't want to go into crazy detail.

I think this is a well written piece.

I don't think anyone who was staff, or is staff, is brainwashed. They have to follow the guidelines imposed for them. A lot of ex-staff trained these people too, and we set the example for them.

The piece I disagree with is people feeling like it was hell for them, everyone experienced Monolith differently. I would say my time wasn't hell, it was stressful and depressing most of the times, but it wasn't hell. If the CM's believe they can change then this is their time to change, however long they want to take. Everyone will still have their personal opinions regarding the handling of the community, but again, that is thanks to freedom of opinion.

Recently I applied to be mentor, but I was rejected for "bad merits." Even though I displayed more persistence and passion for the server and its cause then many staff, I was rejected for this bad reputation I have. Despite my impressive amount of evidence and reasoning to refute this claim labeled onto me, I was rejected.

What this leads me into is the double-standard within this system. I think we have all seen those infamous videos of staff members heinously committing racism, abuse, etc. Many of these same people are still in very high positions. These were the very people who marked me with bad merits, this was the same system that thought a few rule breaks and a semi-defensive personality was enough to not qualify for mentor, yet open racism and abuse of powers is displayed in SOME of these so called "judges."

Originally, I would say this was not about me being rejected for mentor, but being rejected opens up a lot for me. I have been an extremely active player on this server, more than a majority of the staff, especially as you start to go higher in ranks (THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE). I am fairly well known in the community and I think players can agree that we have fun in the community even though there may be beefs and bad relationships, we still actively are engaging in fun activities. The point is that I am intertwined within the monolith player base, but I feel the decisions I received in regard to mentorship as well as many of the responses I see in this forum indicates a simple DISCONNECT BETWEEN STAFFS AND THE SERVER/PLAYERBASE. Some of the responses I see are from staff I haven't seen on the server in months or ever, yet they somehow say they have to right to understand or argue with some posts on the thread. I feel it is this disconnect that denied my mentorship and is causing such a tense relationship between players and staff. This is also the same disconnect that explains the obvious decrease in server activity. The players have been complaining and suggesting issues for years and months, but they were never fixed. And at some point,. more of the same just wasn't of use to them anymore.

Simple Fix: If your a staff-member, especially a higher-leveled one, play more on your server and engage in the community or just don't say anything/defend your position because your position is just out of touch and wrong compared to what we see as active players/

I've recently come back to monolith after a long time (I have been given a second chance). I do not wish to step out of my bounds in this situation, however I would like to voice my concern, seeing a lot of the same themes I saw last year before I was gone.

When I had left, there was hints of a divide between the upper-leadership and the players, but it was mostly a meme and people just shitting on staff for shits and giggles because they said something they didn't like or something else. Nowadays, the first thing I see is this.

The divide between the upper leadership and the main player base is a powder keg, waiting to explode. And this is the tipping point.

The player count has dropped from my heyday and the RP is just simply not the quality I had been able to enjoy in a previous era; I asked some players why and they said decisions made within the last couple of months.

Sometimes, the best course of action is just simply to leave things alone perhaps? Maybe the CMs should also play with their players more (Besides PMX), but as I said before that's not my place to dictate.

Regardless, I hope the threads posted in this chat serve as a reminder to the staff, AND the players of the way things are in this community, and how it led us to this point, and I hope this implores the staff team to take action on the things they have done, maybe reverse decisions and be more accepting of other players.

Again, you are bringing up something that has been acknowledged several times throughout this thread as something we definitely need to improve on.
That isn't the point.

The point is the double standards, where you broke a forum rule and were not forum banned, but someone else broke a rule and they were forum banned.

Imo, there should be some pretty hefty reprocussions ngl, considering statuses in this community of some of the people that do that stuff.

It is not enough to acknowledge something, because we can talk of stuff we want to do and that we promise to do but promises get fucked over.
It simply is not enough. I get that you guys need time, 100%, but, if we keep discussing what we want to do instead of doing them we'll never get them done. I get it that you're answering it, but at this rate, look at why it's being brought up even after the community meeting, and being mentioned here.

I'm not going to speak for people here, I'll speak for myself (though some people will agree with me). I want to see staff be held at a higher standard than players since they represent the community. You can't be held at a lower standard, that lets you fuck up more. So when we see these seemingly minor fuckups which are actually pretty bad, I would want to see more reprocussions (atleast publicly) rather than 'We're working on it.'.

The reason for higher standards - Community managers and server directors and most upper ranked staff, like SA+ basicly are the face of community, so when you call a suggestion gay, or say the n word publicly, that basicly says the community condones your actions, unless, of course, the community doesn't. Think of it like real life. Employees get fired for saying racist or homophobic things in the workplace or on the internet because they are representative of the company itself. As long as that person is still payed, is still given full benefits, etc, their behaviour is being condoned, which, is wrong.

We can't see what meetings you go through, what reprocussions there are, since we have no real transparency. To us it's just a locked door. How can we see through that? How can we be expected to just believe everything, after I've been proven to by different players who I shall not name that management can be a bit untrustworthy?

It just doesn't work to say "I know", becuase we can't know if you actually care, or not.

It is currently 1 am for me;

So everyone currently knows I am a trial moderator on the server. After reading this whole post here are my couple of cents, I see that there where people are coming from and people are aggravated. Since becoming a trial moderator I have been learning more and more about the server, how to deal with things, rules, how things should be done, etc. I could join the server at 8am and lose track of time and then suddenly realize it is 11pm. I see that people have been saying that the developers and CM haven’t been actively participating with staff members and I want to just say if it happened before it isn’t happening now, we have multiple places to talk with the developers and CM. You just need to understand that everyone has lives outside of the game and can be busy, when it comes to the anti cheat, yes there is anti cheat 100%. You may not see it but it is there and it is being updated when they can. The only problem we have is gathering evidence as this can be hard to gather. Punishment wise, I do not see myself giving out hard punishments; the only thing I have done is give someone a 1 week ban for lying to staff ( of course his whole notes were just lying to staff ). I occasionally get accused of player targeting when I issue a punishment, I can be nocliping around the map going from mechanic to power plant just to see people prop push their car out the water, or even see someone basing and using their physgun to avoid being hurt; and occasionally people just get mad at me. Since I am a trial moderator I do not act like I know everything, I do also ask others for opinions and questions about rules. If you want any questions let me know, but this is how I see it as a staff member.
