Re-wrote rule 3.5

3.5 Metagaming: When playing on the server, our Discord is the only allowed third-party program for communication - noteworthy organisations get their own channel only accessible to their members. It is prohibited to use the discord for IC communication, eg: sharing locations, agreeing on meetings, trades etc.

Changed 5:1:8
Killing during raids should be carried out sensibly. If there is a legitimate threat on the property of which you are raiding, then it is logical to enter with the intent to kill. Otherwise as with all the other rules, shooting to kill must be carried out sensibly and as a last resort

Raids have always been and will continue to be violent and rough affairs. Shooting to kill is certainly not a "last resort" in them. This rule's purpose is to protect those who really don't form any legitimate direct or indirect threat alive. The poor alone unarmed guy farming in his garden, instantly giving up when being raided etc. Essentially, be violent when it is warranted, but be sensible with those who form no threat nor rivalry.

Added Police Rule: 8.2.17
8.2.17: In a hostage situation, you are obligated to value the life of the hostage and begin negotiations. A superior officer/lead negotiator may, however, call off negotiations at any time if it is deemed necessary.

Adjusted Rule 2.3
You are not allowed to mug or kidnap in (crowded) public places or near any NPCs, criminal or regular, you must do it in less populated and less exposed areas. This may not be in front of an NPC and/or governmental buildings such as the Police Department, Hospital, Fire Department and City Hall. You can however kill someone near an NPC, granted that you have a reason from earlier. If a player is farming, crafting, metalworking, brewing, or cooking next to an NPC, this rule is voided and they are susceptible to criminal roleplay. Taking hostages in the bank makes an exemption to this rule.

Added rule 2.38

Any information/evidence needed for IC actions, eg: raids, muggings etc. must be gained from first person view. Any sort of information gained in third person is invalid.

Rule 2.32 has been edited.

You are allowed to boost one player at a time to enter an already accessible area. You may boost using vehicles. You are not allowed to boost into an area that is not accessible without boosting.

Modified Rule 2.6 and 2.7
  1. You can not kidnap someone for longer than 20 minutes. You have to release and let the hostage go once that time passed. A staff member may shorten and lengthen a kidnapping.
  2. You can only kidnap someone once every 45 minutes. After the kidnapping has ended, this cool down is in place.
Added Rule 2.32.1
  1. You may not shoot while you are on top of someone's head (due to boosting).

Modified Rule 4.2.5
"You may only kill a hostage if they are threatening to kill/snitch on you, do not FearRP to the fullest extent by for example being highly disrespectful, or if you roleplay the kidnapping very well."

Essentially added the part about significant disrespect that goes against FearRP. Yes, breaching FearRP is against the rules but there are many grey areas with that rule, and so it's good to have a roleplay approach to dealing with it during kidnappings. It's extremely frustrating to always have to bring in admins for such interactions with an obvious IC solution.

Rules for Detectives
Added 8.2.18 The detective is an undercover police officer and may perform normal police duties. He's required to ID himself to officers when requested. Refusal of idenfitication is not an option.

Added 8.2.19 Detectives are allowed to perform certain illegal activities such as growing and doing illegal substances with other people as long as they immediately report these to the police to bust them. You may also perform in raids with permission from Lieutenants or the Chief. During these activities you have to assist the police officers to catch the criminals. The detective can not be charged for performing these illegal activities.

Added 8.2.20 Detectives may not turn against the police department and the general public - which includes shooting at fellow officers and civilians. Your job is crime prevention - not the creation of them.

Added 8.2.21 Detectives may not bait people into committing crimes. The civilians need to suggest these to you instead before you may take action.

Added 8.2.22 Detectives are above regular police officers, but take orders from Sergeants, Lieutenants and the Chief.

Added 8.2.23 Detectives are not above the law and need to follow the traffic laws. They may be ticketed for their wrongdoings.

Added 8.2.24 Detectives are allowed and required to spawn their personal vehicles.

Added 8.2.25 Detectives are allowed to equip and use any weapon of their choice while on duty. This is required when e.g. basing with people to not blow their cover.

Added 8.2.26 Detectives can not perform traffic stops and should refrain from participating in pursuits if uniformed officers are on it already.

Added 8.2.27 The role as detective may not be abused to e.g. receive intel from the police radio and use it to their advantage (e.g. crews using this intel while being raided). It's up to the staff teams descretion to deem certain actions as detective as abuse.

Re-wrote 8.2.26 from
"Detectives can not perform traffic stops and should refrain from participating in pursuits if uniformed officers are on it already."
To:
Detectives can only perform traffic stops in fully equipped police vehicles (lights & sirens). They should refrain from participating in pursuits or doing traffic stops if driving a civilian vehicle. If driving a civillian vehicle they may only engage in a pursuit if no other units are available, and should pull back as soon as uniformed units arrive.

[CHANGED] Fixed several typos.
[CHANGED] 4.1.3.2 (now 4.1.3.1) All firearms, except handguns, are automatically classified as illegal and can not be made legal with a weapon license. A weapon license grants you the right to carry (equip) a weapon, but not openly carry it.
[CHANGED] 4.1.3.3 (now 4.1.3.2) You may not harm an officer for writing you, your friends or crew members a ticket. In addition, you may not harm a police officer for previously arresting you and/or confiscating items from your inventory.
[CHANGED] 4.1.5 You may only start a pursuit if your character is suspected and/or wanted by the police for gross misdemeanours or worse, or if your character is carrying contraband
[CHANGED] 4.2.2.3 As the victim you have to drop all your money up to 10.000$ maximum.
[CHANGED] 4.2.17 It is allowed to rob someone of three items that are for sale, e.g. guns in a gunshop. You may not rob them of their legal belongings (see 4.2.15 for clarification). Officers are allowed to confiscate illegal weapons that are for sale.
[CHANGED] 5.1.9 Prop placement during a raid or gunfight is strictly forbidden. We reserve the right to remove props that were placed down during a raid or gunfight.
[CHANGED] 5.2.3 As law enforcement, once you have performed a raid, regardless whether or not the raid was successfully, you can not raid the same property unless you have gathered new evidence that justify a police raid (due to NLR).
[CHANGED] 8.2.8 As a SWAT officer, you are not above the Chief, Lieutenants or Sergeants. You might have better equipment, but you have no commands over the police department.
[CHANGED] [5] Security Agents -> [5] Secret Service

[REMOVED] 4.1.3.1 'Carrying' is classified as having them equipped. Weapons stored in your inventory aren't classified as 'carrying' unless you performed an illegal act with them. Illegal acts include, but are not limited to, robberies, muggings and general shoot-outs.

Updated rule 1:20

Commercial use of virtual assets in-game is reserved to Monolith Servers alone. For example, you may not trade in-game money for actual real money or vice versa. The one allowed exception is trading a purchase of Premium Membership for in-game value - however, we do not recommend such a trade since there is a risk that you may get scammed. We do not assume any responsibility for such a trade that you initiate with another player.

In short we feel that Premium trades between players is a rare opportunity for those who have no payment means to obtain Premium Membership. Therefore, those are allowed exceptions.

Short Changelog for 05.02.2018

It's finally here... our new ruleset that we've been working on for a bit. These should give you more freedom in how you will be able to perform certain roleplay actions in the future as we do not wish to limit roleplay situations too much with server rules. This is NOT the whole changelog. We suggest that everyone (yes, everyone) reads through our new ruleset as a lot has changed.

General Changes:
  • [CHANGED] Renamed Legend to Terminology
  • [CHANGED] Rewritten A LOT of the rules, rearranged and seperated from eachother.
  • [CHANGED] Fixed tons of grammar mistakes
Major Rule Adjustments:
  • [ADDED] Additional definitions to Terminology (formerly Legend)
  • [ADDED] Faildriving and ERP definition due to being unwritten rules in the past
  • [ADDED] Possibility to suicide if the opposing party agrees (Section [2], 2.1.5.1)
  • [ADDED] Ability to player boost (Section [2], 2.1.11)
    • [CHANGED] The way how you may player boost
  • [CHANGED] Defined when you may loot a player (Section [2], 2.2.7)
  • [CHANGED] Rewritten Mugging, Kidnapping and Robbing rules (Section [4])
  • [REMOVED] A lot of roleplay restrictions. This gives you more freedom to perform specific actions.
  • [REMOVED] A lot "Staff reserve the right...", "Unless granted permission by staff..."-phrases.
Thanks to everyone who participated in changing rules to what they are now.
